Where did.....

the weekend go! Before I knew it, it was over. We had some dreary weather for most of the weekend and I really didn't feel like do much of anything. Friday was spent in bed the entire day due to my flair up. I just move or do a thing. Saturday did get a little better and the weather started to clear up which was nice. Sunday was suppose to rain and it never really did. The sun came out for a while and started to dry everything up,which was really nice.


Danny and Joseph went to test drive the boat to make sure nothing needed to be done on it before it really hits the water for the summer. Here are some of the photos I took of them out in the Bay.





Danny and I went out yesterday for a lunch/dinner for me. My dh has horrible times in which he eats. He likes to eat lunch at about 3pm and then he gets mad that I'm making dinner at 6pm. I do not like to eat late. I've also had dinner usually by 5:30-6pm depending on what was going on. Now that DJ and Shannon both don't get home from work until 6:30pm that is what time I try to have dinner on the table. I normal won't eat that late.

I have some running around to do today. And then of course, I'm still trying to get in the groove to finish those mini-albums which now have been come my headache!

It's Thursday

I have nothing special going on. Just a quick update for today. DJ and I went to the ALL-STAR meet last night. I have to tell you, it was really nothing special. None of the great wrestlers were wrestling. I really thought we would see some awesome wrestling last night, but no.

Yesterday, I pretty much did nothing. I've been battling a toothache for the last two days. It comes and goes. I'm going to have to try to get into the dentist. I don't like dentists at all.ugh

It looks like it is going to be sunny and on the cool side today. So my plan is to get my behind out on the track this morning and go for a tan. I then hope to finish one of 4 mini-albums (which are getting the best of me). I've got 2 more weeks to finish those suckers! Hope I can.
Ok,,, gotta hit the track. Trying to lose 15 pounds! Wish me luck, lately I need it

New Sunglasses

Yes, I've finally taken a few photos of my new sunglasses. They are geeky, but I really like them. I need full sun coverage for my eyes at all times. About 14 years ago I had to have my eyes totally reconstructed due to Graves Disease. So pretty much from my eyebrows to my cheekbones have been redone.

Also, as I promised, I took some photos of the jewlery box that Joseph made me for Mother's Day! It is really nice and pretty big. He really is not done with it. He wants to put a fabric bottom in it and a mirror on the inside of the top.

Yesterday (really today), the weather never got as nice as they said it would. So I did not relax in the wonderful sunshine. There was plenty of sunshine, but it was so damn windy that you would freeze. I had to wear a sweatshirt the entire day. And of course, it is suppose to rain all day Wednesday! ugh.

2 peas challenge: What are three things that are on your desk that shouldn’t be? blog about it. Hmmmm. lets see..... There is a ton of papers that should not be on here, ds' car towel (don't ask), and a disco light (again, don't even ask, those kids of mine just drop stuff on here all time). There is also a screwdriver (I don't want to know why) and an empty plastic cup. Ohhh well something else for me clean.

Terrific Tuesday

Well, that is what they are saying. They being the weather men and women. Looking outside right now it sure doesn't seem that way, that's for sure. I hope the sun will come out like they say it is suppose to. I just love wonderful sunny days. Today is suppose to be the best day of the week here. I'm planning on taking full advantage of it if it happens.

I had a very relaxing Mothers Day and hope everyone else did also. I did have to take DJ to the doctor at 10:30am, still can't believe that they were open. Everything is going to fine with his rash. Just have to keep putting lotion on it til its gone.

Danny and I went to Boaters World (of course not for me). He needed paint for the boat, but I did get a new pair of sunglasses.

I then sat out in the yard for about 1 hr. taking in all the wonderful sunshine that would come my way.

Shannon and I went to see the movie "Georgia Rule". I have to tell you that it was a little shocking, but funny. I really loved it and so did Shannon. I don't want to give anything away, but I just loved the part where Jane Fonda tells Lindsay Lohnans character "F" you! I thought I was going to fall off the chair. I couldn't get over Jane saying that. I don't know why, just couldn't.

After the movie, we came home and had pizza! I love it that I didn't have to cook! Then the kids gave me their gifts. Joseph actually made me a wonderful jewlery box in his tech class. It came out wonderful. I will take some photos of it later on. I know he still wanted to put something on it. You can tell he put a lot of thought into it.

Well thats it for me today. I still need to finish those mini- albums that I just can't seem to get done. I hope I can in the next 2 weeks. Hope you all have a great day!

Happy Mothers Day!

Here it is Mother's Day! A day of relaxing for most mom's. Not this one. DH decided to be an idiot this morning and wake me up at 7am saying that he needed breakfast (he never eats breakfast), just wanted to aggravate me. I just ignored him and turned the other way. then he did it again... at 9am! I just wanted to sleep in for once! Friday night I was out with friends until 2:45am Saturday and I got up early at 6am! Shoot just give me a break for one day. I wanted to just punch him in the face this morning. I just ended up getting up made coffee, jumped in for a quick shower and got dressed. I had to take DJ to the Dermatologist this morning (I couldn't believe that they were open on a Sunday first and then Mother's Day to boot).

We came home from the Dr. and dh decided to be nice for a change. So we took a ride to the Boat store (like that is where I really wanted to be, lol) he needed to get paint for the boat. I did however get a new pair of sunglasses. I need sunglasses that fit all around my eyes for protection and these were really nice.

DD is taking me to the movies later on today. We are going to see Georgia Rule with Jane Fonda, and Lindsay Lohnan,It also has the lady from Desparate Housewifes (the blonde, just can't think of her name and I love her).

Other than that, nothing else is going on here. I hope you all have a terrific Mothers Day!

To be 18 again.

Ahhhh. To be 18 again. I don't know if I would want to do it again. If I did though I know I would make some major changes in my life. I'm sure I would not get married and have pregnant at 18! The only good that was, was that I had my kids really early in life. I was one of the young moms. I don't mind I actually enjoyed it. It was something that I decided to do with my life at the time. And I have no regrets about it all.

You may ask why I'm saying all this today. Well my ds DJ turned 18 yesterday! He still has his whole life ahead of him. He actually has a very good plan. He is going to graduate High School next month. Go to Nassau Community College next year, taking Liberal Arts classes to get them out of the way and wrestling for the best Division 3 wrestling team in probably the country.

Its really hard to believe that 18 years ago he was born. Even harder to believe is that fact that he weighed 9 lbs 15 oz! and was 19 inches long. He was my little butterball. He was also my only baby to come on his exact due date. To this day, he lates to be early or late. He is so cute.

Last night we had ice cream cake (his favorite). It was just really us, immediate family. The photos didn't come out very clear and they all have an orange tint to them. I think thats from my walls.

What do you get for an 18 year old boy???? Well I decided it was just easier to give him money.

dd Shannon and ds Joseph gave him a bunch of scratch off's. He won a few bucks with them.And we can't forget that Lacey was waiting patiently for her ice cream cake also. She is so funny.Thats it for Birthday news here.

What a day!

Yesterday was a very wacky day here. Danny and I went out on the boat late morning and drove around to the inlet. It was cool on the water, but nice. As we were going under the 2nd bridge I noticed that the lighthouse had a fog over it. It just looked funny like that. The weather channel said that the fog was going to lift by early morning and it really didn't. Here is a photo of the light house. It just has an eerie feeling to it.

Then we went into the ocean, ugh! The waves were crazy! And all of a sudden it got pitch dark out. You couldn't see a thing. I was like , ok, lets get the heck back over to cove (Sore Thumb).

The fog was just rolling in like crazy. For about 45 mins you couldn't even see 10 feet away from you. Then it cleared up and was all sunshine for about 2 hours. We then decided to go back in. While driving back we ended up in the fog. It really didn't go very far that is for sure. And it was kind of foggy for most of the ride home.

Here is a photo of Danny drive our vessel. He looks so goofy with that freakin' hair. I wish he would finally cut it off. It is really horrible.Here are the Party/Fishing boats that dock at Captree Boat Basin. We really had a good day out there despite the fog. It was very relaxing and calm. Just what I needed.

Today is ds DJ's 18th Birthday! Yahoo. So we are having cake later on tonight. DJ was asked to wrestle in the Nassau vs Suffolk Championships which are next week and he said yes! That is a big honor. So he has practice tonight til' about 8pm. I hope that doesn't interfer with my Grey's tonight. Hopefully it will be on again tomorrow, just in case.

What a Beautiful Day!

Today is suppose to be the best day of the week. It is very sunny out right now and warming up nicely. I'm pretty sure dh and I are going to be taking the boat for a few hours and just relax in the wonderful sunshine.

I do not have anything else planned for the day except to continue working on my mini album. Which seems to be taking forever. It is really pretty simple but alot of cutting.

I still need to order DJ's Birthday Cake for tomorrow. I still can't believe that he is going to be 18 tomorrow! Boy the time just really flies by.

What a Weekend

DJ and I went upstate to Binghamton, NY for the Freestyle/ Greco-Roman Wrestling State Championships. It was just a wonderful ride which took up about 3 1/2 hours to get there. We picked up 2 other boys that really wanted to wrestle up there also, but didn't have a way to get there. We had two cars that went up. I had 3 boys and the other car had 2. So not bad odds- 3 adults to 5 teenage boys!

Binghamton was just wonderful. Of course we spent most of our time in a hockey arena which had wall to wall wrestling mats in it, but that was what we were there for. Day one had a ton of wrestling for us. DJ was pretty much on fire! he won his first 2 matches in 2 periods (which is very good). Drew won his 1st match and lost the 2nd. Carter won his 1st match and lost his 2nd also. Frank did do very well in Freestyle and lost his 2 matches. Chris was wrestling Greco on the 1st day and he lost his 2 matches also. By the end of the evening (almost 10pm) we were all exhausted!

Day 2 brought more excitement. DJ was still on fire. He won his 1st match of the day, but got injured during the match. He never even gave me a hint that he was hurt and still continued to wrestle that match and won in 2 periods! About 30 mins later he came up to the stands and he looked like death. He dislocated his shoulder again! His next match was a BYE (which means the kid he was suppose to wrestle dropped out) so we said , lets see if the swelling goes down and maybe he would be able to move the shoulder. Of course that didn't happen! He couldn't even move his hand! He was now done and he probably would've place 2nd in this tournament and been able to go to Nationals!

I have to say that I think both of us were pretty sad that he couldn't finish out the tournament. He was wrestling sooooo well. He really deserved to wrestle injury free. He works so freakin' hard for this every year. Oh well, nothing you can do now. Just move on to Empire Games in 4 weeks from now. Hopefully, he will be able to wrestle then. We really had a great time the whole weekend. I would love to just go up there (especially this time of the year) and relax.

On a Roll!

Well, for now anyway, lol. I can't believe that I managed to blog 3 days in a row now. This was just impossible for me to do for the past 2 weeks. Maybe I'm starting to come out of my slump. I sure hope so.

Last night, dh and I drove to College Point. This is a big deal for most people that live on Long Island. We don't like driving anywhere near there. Not that it's a bad area or anything like that. We just are uncomfortable, the streets are mostly one way, and you seem to get lost very quickly, especially when you don't know where the heck you are going. Dh was funny and said "OMG, this is like driving in the city!" OK... he has maybe driven to the city once in his life, lol. Its always an adventure when you drive anywhere with him. First he is ADD, and Second he is bi-polar. Like I said "Thrilling!". I'm always afraid to mention that he missed a turn or turned the wrong way or needs to be in a different lane because you don't know if he is going to blow up at you. It can be very frustrating. Anyway we made it to College Point with just one little yell and actually made it home with none! This was an amazing car ride to say the least.

It was kind of funny that while we were driving home dh just comes out and says to me, "I don't enjoy anything anymore". Well, I've noticed that for some time now. He does not like to do anything with the kids anymore and really just wants to sit in his garage all day long. To be honest with you, he has just gotten worse each week lately. So he then says to me "I think I need to get help". I nicely said "well, you know your body better then anyone else, if you feel like that, then you probably do need to see someone." He has not been to a counselor for over 2 years now. He counsleor (who was a wonderful woman) had past away just over 2 years ago and he just doesn't want to have to start all over with someone new. I really don't blame him. Its hard enough to open up the first time to someone who doesn't know anything about you, who wants to do it a second time! I am happy though that he sees that he does need some help. I really hope that he goes.

Other news.... ds D.J. and I are getting ready for our trip upstate to Binghamton! This is a 4 hour drive, ugh. We are leaving bright and early tomorrow morning. This is sure to be an adventure with D.J. . He is not a navigator! I like it when ds Joseph goes with me, he is a great navigator. DJ is just there for the ride. He does not care if you get lost, just get him there in time.lol

Today, I've got to get my car cleaned for the big trip, and oil change, and fill er' up. I also have to get some drinks and food and get the laundry done so we can pack everything today and load it all in the truck tonight. I just want to get up in the morning, make coffee and head out. We have to be on the road by 6:45am to miss most of the traffic. Wish us luck!

I would love to go to Italy! Friends of ours went last year and they said it was just wonderful. They stayed there for over 2 weeks and they just can't wait to go back. They said that it was quite different then what you would expect. I would just love to see all the wonderful buildings, art and land. Maybe one day I will be able to afford to go there. Ok... TTFN .. It's May!

Well, as you can see I really have not been blogging lately. Just really haven't been into it at all. I'm sure a lot of us have gone through this. Just didn't care at all about anything really. Hopefully, today will bring new excitement to me. It's a new day! I'm just muddling through to be honest with you.

Yesterday was just a wonderful day! I pretty much just sat out in the backyard and did nothing! Yes, I said nothing! That really pissed off dh, but I said to myself, Self- your down in the dumps ..... do something for you! So I did. I just laid there for hours basking in the wonderful sunshine and just taking in all the wonderful sounds around me.

I've been trying to get myself motivated with some of my scrapbooking. I've really have got to get 4- 5x7 albums done in 3 weeks! This is a huge challenge for me and hopefully one that I can manage to get through.

The only other thing that has me pre-0ccupied is getting ready for the long drive upstate to Binghamton, NY so that ds D.J. can wrestle in STATES! I'm just hoping that everything goes well and he wrestles well up there. This is a 3 day tournament. It is a just the drive that kills me! It's 4 hours.

Ahhh the Weekend

Yes! Its finally within reach.... the weekend! I've been looking forward to this all week just so I didn't have to get up early in the morning. I am usually up by 6:30am the latest every morning, but for the past week (since returning from Las Vegas) I just can't sleep during the night and I've been falling a sleep about 3am, so I'm not getting up til' almost 6:45am to get the boys out for school. I then have been jumping right back into the bed and not getting up until 9:30! Now I don't know if the weather had anything to do with all this (but I think it did), because it has been raining and dreary since I returned. I've actually felt very depressed. It could also be that I'm home all the time now. Not working (due to dr's orders) is making it very difficult for me. Hopefully, it will get better now. The weather is suppose to really nice for the next 4 days and that itself is refreshing. I love to see the sun shining. And boy it is shining bright this morning! I might actually hit the track this morning for a walk.

It is from 7-midnight and the girl that holds it calls it "Crop and Cocktails" very fun. Then tomorrow she is having another crop "Crop and Lunch" from 12-5. I then have a Comedy Show/Dinner to go to at 6:30pm. So I will be very busy. Thank goodness nothing is going on Sunday and hopefully I will sleep.

What an evening...

DJ and I had last night! We attended the Suffolk County Wrestling Association's Annual Counties Award Dinner. It was held at Sports Plus here on Long Island. This dinner is held to honor the young men that placed 1st-6th at the Counties Tournament. DJ place 6th this year at 130 lbs. I was not really able to get good photos due to the lighting in the banquet room, but here are 2 photos. In the photo below, DJ is the one all the way on the left.

In the photo below DJ is with his coaches. These coaches just hate it when I have a camera with me, lol. They will miss me when I'm gone I keep telling them.Doesn't DJ just look so handsome? What else is a mother suppose to say? I just love this kid so much he doesn't have a clue! I'm so proud of everything that he has done so far in his life and I know that I will continue to be proud of everything that does in the future.

Gloomy Tuesday

hmmmm. Did I spell that right? I've been really out of it lately. I don't know what is going on with me. I'm exhausted all the time and just don't know what to do with myself. This weather on the East Coast hasn't helped since I got back from Las Vegas. Maybe it's depression? Who knows.

Ok,,,, changing the subject. This Sunday, ds DJ decided to wrestle. I just can't get a break lately. So we headed out early Sunday morning and didn't get home until about 4pm (which is pretty early). This is due to the fact that again, DJ stopped wrestling becasue of his hand. I don't know why he won't let me take him to the dr. but that is probably because he knows that it will get a cast on it and he still want's to wrestle. He was a little upset because he was actually wrestliing very well Sunday and he was over weight! Meaning he was in a higher weight class than he usually is in becasue he was 1/2 lb to heavy and he didn't want to run the 1/2 lb off that morning. So he was wrestling guys 8 lbs heavier. I know that it really doesn't seem like a big difference, but it really is. Here are a few photos from Sundays Wrestling.

What would you do togther? I'm pretty sure that my best friend and I would love to go on another cruise. We had a wonderful time when we did that 26 years ago. I think we would love to do the cruise of Italy. I've heard great things about it. If not then the Carribean. We would do a lot of sight seeing, laying out in the sun, eating of course and just catching up with each other. It would be very relaxing and fun.

Wacky Wednesday

It is really wacky here today! I just don't know what the heck I'm doing today. We need to get ready to pack to go home. Yes, we are still in Las Vegas, going home tomorrow afternoon. To be honest with you, I really need a vacation from my vacation! This one has been very difficult. I can't wait to get home and just relax.

Today, I got up and decided I really didn't want to much. DJ stayed at my son Jonathon's last night so he wasn't here bothering me this morning to do something. Joseph and I went to my parent's house and hung out there for a little while. Then we went to Walmart and lost my mother. I don't know what she was doing, but we couldn't find her for about 40 mins! Just aggravates the heck out of me. Joseph and I then came back to my sister's and sat around for a while, waiting for DJ and my niece Alley to get back here so we could go to SkyMania. SkyMania is a trampoline place. It is wall to wall trampolines! They love going there. We went there for an hour of jumping. They jumped and I watched today.

Hello Monday

It's been a pretty long week for me. I haven't been able to get on here to update due to DJ's wrestling schedule. We flew out to sunny Las Vegas last Monday and on Wednesday, Thursday, Friday and Saturday it was wrestling all day! I'm exhausted. We will be here until this Thursday afternoon.

On Tuesday we went to Red Rock Canyon! We go there every year. It was just a wonderful the day we went. The boys hiked up the rock! They went pretty high. Almost to the top.When I get a chance to upload the photos I will post them. It is just a very beautiful place to visit and explore.

Easter was spent at my sisters. We just cooked the entire day. I baked a wonderful cheesecake (my great-grandmothers receipe), Peanut Butter Chocolate Bundt Cake (Melissa, from 2peas receipe) except I top it with a wonderful chocolate gnache and then heavycream whiped cream when served and then I also made "DIRT" thats a pudding with crushed up oreos. We also made lasagne, garlic bread, a ham, potatoes, gravy, corn, and broccoli.

I'm not so sure what we are going to do today. DJ want's to try to get into a gym and get a workout in. Then who know's what we will do. I would love to work on my tan.

2 peas challenge for today was about color. Lately I just love to work with red's, oranges, and black. I really like earth tones the most.

Yahoo! It's Friday

I'm so happy that it is Friday! I really don't know why, but I am. Could it be that I don't have to get up at 6:15am to make sure that my 15 year old actually gets up for school and makes it to the bus tomorrow or for that matter for the next 12 days! Yep, they start their Easter Break tomorrow. I think I need this vacation more than them sometimes, lol.

We are looking forward to leaving for Vegas in 3 days! I just can't wait. The weather there has been perfect, so my sister, son, and father have called to tell me at least 3 times a day for the last week or so. They will do anything to rub it in to me. I have to say, that it has been pretty nice here for the last 5 days! Lots of sunshine, low humidity and for the first 3 days we even had temps up to and over 60. The last 2 days have been sunny, but very windy and a lot colder. It will be nice to get into some 80-90's sunshine.

Yesterday I took a few pictures of the flowers that are Springing up in the flower bed by my porch. As you may have read in a previous post, I'm not into gardening. Do not like it. I love the flowers when they bloom, but could really care less if I had flowers in the yard to be honest. So dh wanted flowers so I told him to go and plant bulbs that way he could have flowers in the spring. I wasn't get that job of planting and taking care of it. So here are the some of the colors that popping up in my front yard.

I noticed that the tulips are coming up and should be fully open in about a week. So dh was very excited to see his flowers blooming.

Yesterday, I was able to get a little nap since I really didn't get to sleep. Which I didn't get to sleep last night either due to dh's snoring and lifting the roof off the house! I was up the entire night. He was pretty bad last night. I can usually get him to stop if I rub his shoulder and then he turns over. But for some reason last night he just kept turning back on his back!ugh... exhausted again. I'm not going to go back to sleep this morning after the kids leave for school. I'm going to try to get to the track and walk and go for my tan. I also cleaned up this house a little. It sure needs a good spring cleaning! I might have to get someone in to help this year. I was even able to actually color my hair yesterday! yeah for me. No more grays (at least for the next 3 weeks, lol). Took one photo of the end result (Warning: NO MAKE UP!).

Woke up with a......

TOOTHACHE! OMG. I've been up since about 4 am but kept tossing and turning all night long. It seems to have subsided now and I hope it goes away. Yes, I'm one of those people, I hate dentists. So, again today, I will be exhausted. I think a nap is in order for me, lol.

I was on this morning and was checking out some blogs and checked in on "Its Not Easy Being Green" blog. She really inspired me by posting some new technics she found on a few other blogs. I'm so excited about trying out these two new technics. One is Cling wrap Crinkle technic-Scrapbook-Trends » Studio DaphNat: Clingwrap Crinkle Technique The other one is a masking tape technic- *e*: art journal challenge - week 11 this one looks a little easier, but we will see. I'm now looking forward to getting downstairs and trying to be a little creative.

Yesterday, I went for my walk and then my friend for breakfast. We just sat and talked for about 2 hours. Playing catch up. We haven't seen each other in about 3 weeks, but we do talk to each other at least once a week. You may ask what the heck did you talk about for 2 hours? Well, we both have Seniors in High School. What else could take 2 hours to talk about? Who's going to the prom? Who is going to go to the Wrestling Awards Picnic? You know the important stuff, lol.

Today, I plan on going for my walk, getting a tan. I also want to color my hair today (I'll try to take before and after photos) and then who knows what. Getting ready to pack for our trip, we leave on Monday. I guess I really should make dinner tonight, hmmmmm.. what to make? Not sure, but I will think of something.

Hump Day

Its Wednesday! I've got a few plans for today. I'm going to get the heck out of here and go for my walk in a little while and then I'm meeting one of my friends for breakfast. You might say that it just doesn't seem like I should even bother to walk today, but you know you still need to eat. I'm eating a little lighter and being more careful about what I'm eating again. I truly want to lose at least 15 lbs by June and it can be done with a little determination and sticking to my plans. I'm sure I will just have an egg omelet, maybe some homefries (just have to have some), coffee, and water. Not too bad.

Yesterday, I had sooooo many plans and really didn't do any of them. I did however get to do my walk in the morning. Then I went to tan. I then came home had breakfast and coffee, when dh asks me to help him seed the back yard! ugh... So being a nice wife (ok, yesterday was rare, lol) I helped him for almost 2 hours out there. It was a beautiful day so why not. Then he gets a call to go out east which is about a 40 mile drive and he wants me to go with him (another, ugh and because I was being a nice wife) so I go along for the ride. That took us about 2 hours. So yes, nothing I really wanted to get done got done yesterday.

Today, I another beautiful day. The weather is suppose to be warm, about 63. I do want to do something outside so I will probably wash my car (which I wanted to do yesterday) and then maybe read a book outside while its nice out. The cold weather is supposed to creep back in here tomorrow so I'm going to take full advantage of the warm sunshine today. The only other thing I really want to get done today is get the suitcases out and air them out and start to get them packed for our trip. I really can't wait to get away. I also want to take some photos today. Not sure of what, but I did notice that some of my flowers have already bloomed. So maybe I will shoot some of those.

I'm Exhausted

Yes, I am! This weekend was spent in a school gym again. NO ds DJ did not wrestle, we went to watch some of the other boys from team wrestle. I've got to tell you, I'm wiped out! It was 6 hrs on Saturday and 10 hours on Sunday! I think I'm crazy, but I just love the sport and can't get away from it.

The boys and I are really getting excitied about leaving for Las Vegas in 6 days! There again I will be in a gym for 4 full days! DJ and his friend Romeo (Rich) will be wrestling the 4 days. This, I'm sure will be very exciting. We have never done this tournament and I hear there is a lot of tough competition out there. I just hope that they place 1-4. That right there is a big accomplishment.

I'm also looking forward to some down time with the rest of my family that live out there especially my oldest ds Jonathon who I haven't seen since August! This is a 2 fold trip in a way. Wrestling and vacation all in one. Hopefully the weather there will continue to be nice while I'm there.

Other than the wrestling this weekend, I pretty much did nothing else! God I'm lazy, this poor house needs a CLEAN SWEEP! Sometimes I wish I would apply for that show and let them just come in and get it done. I just seem to hoard everything and can't decide to keep or throw so I keep. Its a terrible illness. Can that be considered an illness? oh well, life goes on.

2peas challenge:What is something you love to do on nice sunny days? Well, I think that this has been asked once before and my answer to this burning question is..... I really love to go and just sit out in my back yard. Letting the sun hit my face and body and just relax. Otherwise, we will take the boat out and have some fun on the water.

Not going well...

it has been 1 month (4 wks) since my last Remicaid infusion and yes... as you may have guessed I won't be able to get my infusion today! This insurance company has done nothing but aggravate me and the doctors now! It is starting to get a little out of hand now. I'm at a loss as to what to do now. My doctors office said that I should call them again and tell them that I'm getting a lawyer now to handle this situation and see what happens. I've been fighting for them to pay bills since September! And the best part is that the insurance company gave my doctor authorization for the treatment! So it looks like no treatment until the doctor gets paid. Which I completely understand since the treatments come to about $5,500 each month. Thats a lot!

Yesterday I was just very depressed about the whole thing and well... ended up doing much of nothing put run around without my head which made me feel like I was getting nothing done at all. I really hate that feeling. I just felt empty. I hope today will be a better day.

Here are some photos of my baby (Lacey). I walked outside the backdoor to see if she was ready to come in and this is where I found her!

On top of dh's construction pile! I couldn't believe that she was up there. I called for dh to come out and see where are little princess had perched herself. She is so funny. She was not coming down from there either. She was enjoying the wonderful rays of Spring and was not ready to come down.She even started to pose for me, lol. She really is so adorable.

After all the photo taking, which went on for about 20 mins or more. She finally came on down off her perch. This is where we found out how she got up there in the first place. Apparently, one of the saw horse's fell down and everything that was on top of it angled down giving Lacey the perfect ramp to get up there. This girl finds everything. She is something else, I'm telling you.

2peas challenge: Today is the 2nd day of spring, officially, What have you done, so far to officially welcome in the new season???? To be honest with you I really have not done a thing! I go tanning regularly, but as for something for spring, I haven't done 1 single thing yet. I know that this weekend I will have to go through all my clothes, that is because we are going to Vegas on the 2nd and we don't need all these winter clothes there. My son said that its been around 90 during the day. So looking forward to that. So nothing spring like to report yet here. Hope everyone has a Terrific Thursday.

Is Spring here?

I'm not sure. Here it is only about 40 degrees and really doesn't feel like spring yet. The weather people are claiming that we are suppose to get a warm front coming in tomorrow. I sure hope that it does.

Yesterday I visited Bonnie Rose's blog and she had a link to one of her friends (Kari) blogs. She is having a Spring Tea Party over there today. It just sounds wonderful. I know that if I were to actually attend a tea party I would bring Blueberry Muffins. I just love making them and eating them. lol

I'm posting later than normal today due to too much of life's little ups and downs today. Too much to list of what I did today. And I still feel like nothing was done! I hate when that happens. Something always pops up and stops you from doing what you need to get done and then you get that feeling that you did nothing the entire day.

Well that is it for me today.. going to check on dh to make sure he is ok outside fixing his truck.

Nothing New

to report here today. Yesterday I was able to get a few things done, which was nice. Like 4 loads of laundry, cleaned the bathroom, vaccuum the floors, sweep the other floors, you know the endless list of cleaning. Today will probably be another one of those days.

I didn't tell you that this weekend the kids and I went to see the movie Wild Hogs! OMG, it was so funny, (since we are all bikers in this house, it hit home a little). We could not stop laughing. It is pretty funny to see that 4 men all in the 40's or better are going to take a road trip on bikes. Not only that, but they have really no destination planned out. And that William H. Macy can be very funny. I never knew that he could be. He usually plays very serious roles. I just might have to go and see it again!

Today, there really isn't much going on. I'm just starting to get things ready for our trip to Vegas in less than 2 weeks. I hope the weather stays like it is for me. I could really use some 90 degree weather to warm me up. We are going to be there for 9 days in total. Of course, 4 of the 9 will be spent in the Sports Complex, DJ is wrestling in the Nationals Tournament there. I can't wait. I hope that he does well. He has been looking forward to this tournament for years. We were supposed to go last year, but he got severely injured a week before the tournament and could not wrestle. That is when he had the total knee injury and everything got ripped out. ACL, MCL, and the miniscus. Total knee reconstruction! So he is staying low until after this tournament. No live wrestling until we hit Vegas!

2 peas challenge for today: Blog about your fave snack food.. .what is it, that you absolutely love snacking on, good for u or not?? blog about it! ~~~ Well, I think I may have said this before, but I'm not sure it is considered a snack food. I can always eat ICE CREAM! I just love it and it has to be CHOCOLATE! but if you are talking about you know.. munchie snacks... Then I have to say it would be pretzels. I try not to eat them, but I love them. Now if you want to say what is your fave candy! OH boy it would have to be Plain M & M's! This is my favorite since I was very little. I just love it when they melt in your mouth, lol.

Finally

....I've been able to get something done that is scrapbook related! Yahoo!!! I'm pretty excited that I was actually able to get anything done. It kind of gave me the itch to get my butt back in gear and work on some stuff. I have well over 500 photos of wrestling that I should organize and get some of them in a scrapbook. This is one of my plans for the next week and a half.

The other is getting this house a little more organized and get ready for sunny Las Vegas! Yes,,, its that time again! I'm off to Vegas for 10 wonderful days. Ok, 4 of the days will be spent in the Sports Complex because DJ is going to be wrestling. I can't wait and just keep crossing my fingers that he will do well and not injury his knee or any other body part during this tournament! We are staying for Easter again this year also. It is nice to have Easter with my parents, my oldest son and sisters. This is the one holiday that we are able to do this since Christmas is spent in the gym wrestling.

This Circle Journal book that I just worked on is an odd size book and I really didn't know what to do in it. It has a pretty simple theme "Summertime" so choosing photos was not the problem. It was the size and fitting everything in it. The page size was like 3 3/4" x 8 1/2" not a lot of scrapping room, (well for me). So I decided to make extra room for my 2 pages allowed by using hinges on the sides of the pages to make "barn doors" to my 2 pages, giving me extra room. I think they came pretty good for the first time using hinges also on a project.

The first photo is of my "barn doors" as I like to call to them. You can see the hinges at the top and the bottom.

Once you open up the 2 red doors this is what you have inside! Oh well... I tried. It is very simple and to the point. The top page says "Summer Loves"... Boating.... Oceans. The 2nd one has ... Swimming.... Tubing.... Beaches. The 3rd says... Sunsets..... Sunshine and Family. The last one just tells a little bit about the summers and what we do in the summer here on Long Island.

So this Saturday was St. Pattys Day! and it is my anniversary! Its been a long 25 years that is for sure. I can't believe that I put up with his crap for this long, lol. We really didn't do much. Just went for dinner and came home. But it was nice.

That was pretty much the extent of my weekend. I did much of nothing but get this journal ready for the mail.

I'm Back!

and its about time! I can't believe that I was sick for over a week! That damn stomach virus is vicious. It hit me strong on the 2nd day and then lingered in me for 3 days and then hit me again. I never had anything like that. I'm just glad that it is over now. I think everyone in the house has had it and I've been disinfecting everything! I won't have anymore of that in here. ugh.

Yesterday, it was pretty nice here. The temps got up to about 63 and I was feeling pretty good so I went and did a mile and 1/4 walk in the morning. I tried to keep myself very busy yesterday, my first day of really going out and doing anything. After my walk I went for a tan, did grocery shopping, paid some bills, went to the mall to finally get a bra fitting (this is important). My body is changing and nothing feels right (I just hate when gravity starts to take over). After all that I really needed a nap. So I took an hour to nap and boy that was nice.

Since I've been stuck in the house and I finally received a Circle Journal to work on I was happy to get myself doing something scrapbook related after my long drought. I went to work on it immediately and I'm pretty much done with it. I just need to pick up some hinges and presto done. I will post the photos of it tomorrow. I think it is pretty simple, but nice.

Today, I'm going to try to walk again this morning and get my but over to Joanns or Michaels to get those hinges. I also need frames for DJ's posters before he ruins them. Since I'm going there I should just get them and get it done. I wonder if I will be able to put his medal in the one frame??? Should I see about getting a shadow box instead? This is a pretty big frame that I need. Any suggestions???

Ohhhhh, quick note to all that visited here last week. I took out the leaf in the dining table and it is pretty much cleaned off! When I get a chance to take a photo I will.

Boy, its good to be back! I'm out of here for now. Going to check out everyones blog that I've been missing for the last week. Enjoy your Thursday.

Nothing is getting done.

I don't see anything getting done here today. ds Joseph has been sick since Sunday night and dh has been sick since last night, ugh! Then to top it all off... I think I'm starting to get sick now, it started about 3am this morning. I think mine is different from theirs, then have major cold symptoms. Mine is feeling more like stomach virus! This is just what I needed right now. I think my great-nephew must've still been a carrier, lol. Plus, he really wasn't completely well (I think). Everytime he ate something he said his belly hurt. But then about 15 mins later was playing and was fine. So I think he still had it lingering in him. Now I'm the choosen one to get it I guess.

I came up and laid on the couch about 6:30am to make sure DJ got up for school and then I passed out until about 8:30 when my daughter said "Bye, Mom, see you later". Then I fell back to sleep until about 10:30! I never do that unless I'm sick. Figures,,,,, the sun is at least shining. Its cold out ,but sunny for a change. My whole body is pretty achy, not sure if it is because I'm not feeling well or from being stationary. When you have all these different arthritis' and muscle diseases you will get very achy when you stop moving around. So I decided to try to move around and get on here for a little bit. Just making me nauseous!

As you may have guessed, I still have not done anything to my diningtable! This is going to be the death of me. I did however take some photos of it right now! You won't believe your eyes. We can't even eat of this thing, I swear. Hopefully, I will get to it before the end of the week. I really need to. Well here it is, gasp!

Isn't it a disgrace! I just can't believe that I keep letting it get like this. What the hell is wrong with me. It is really the dumping ground for everything! As you can see. Oh well... hopefully this week will be productive as long as I don't get really sick!

2 peas challenge: It's almost spring.. what are you gonna be planting in your garden/containter gardens, this spring? I, unfortunately, do not like gardening! I know this may shock some of you, but I really hate it. I have tulips, iris' and daffodils that have been in the ground forever that come up every year. That is just fine with me. My husband likes to have flowers all the time, but you guessed it, doesn't really want to do anything with it either. Every year he is like, are you planting anything? and every year I tell him the same thing NO! I'm not going to change. lol

Laceys New Hair Cut.

I hope everyone had a great weekend. Mine was just OK. Nothing exciting happened here, except that Lacey got a hair cut! This is big excitement here. She only gets a major cut about twice a year. She really needed it. My baby has allergies and her eyes run and no matter what we do lately it seems to stick and get clumped in her massive hair right under her eyes. So now she is very irritated and raw right in that area. Now its all cleaned up and the meds can get right in there and heal it nice.

Here she is sitting on top of the loveseat looking out the window..ugh... as you can see, we are still in need of the window sills in that window. The garage was more important for DH.

Here is Lacey looking around. In this photo you can really see her boo-boo. Makes me sad to see her having a sore. She is sad in this photo because I kept trying to get a good shot of her and she kept moving. Its almost like she is saying "Alright already Mom! Leave me alone!" Just gotta love her.

Nothing is planned for today except trying to get this house cleaned up a little. As usual... That freakin' dining table is a disaster again! Today I'm taking photos (hopefully,lol) of that thing. You won't believe your eyes.

Raining Cats and Dogs!

Yes it is pouring out! It is like the heavens have opened a damn up there and it is just coming down. I knew we were going to get some rain, but didn't realize it was going to be this much. No relief is site either! good gosh. Sometimes, especially when it rains like this, I wish it would snow instead. I know it sounds crazy, but I do.
I should've known that it was going be really bad today, my back ,neck, and legs have been killing me since yesterday morning. That is a sign of bad weather.
Well, today, I going to be babysitting my 4 year old great-nephew! He is a handful, but adorable. I felt bad, no one else could watch him today. My neice was in the hospital with his 1 year old sister all night she was sick (dehydrated more like it) and was not going to be there for him today. His dad does not live here anymore and my nieces mother could not watch him either. So they called me. What was I going to say? NO? He is a little devil most of the time so this will be interesting for the entire day. Shoot he will be here in 10 mins! Lucky me, lol. I will have to try to take some photos of him today. He is a little cutie.
Other than that, nothing else for today. DJ is home, he has a drs appt this morning, so no school for him today, but now he has only been up for 15 mins and he is already up my butt for me to make him french toast. Where the heck did these kids come from! I haven't even had my first cup of coffee yet! What makes him think he gets french toast before I get coffee. ugh! Wish me Luck with these two today, lol.

Here we go again

I've decided to start my diet again! Yes, again. Well, back in December when I had the surgery and everything I stopped my exercising like the dr. said to and I of course started eating all the garbage again. Its now time to get myself back together. I don't do this for anyone but me so you would think it would be easy. Nahhhh... not in the least.

Heres the thing... When the weather was nice (well at least warm) I would walk the track 2 miles everyday. Now that it is cold out I really can't because of my arthritis. If it is about 45 degrees out I can probably do it all bundled up. And of course now I wouldn't be walking 2 miles right off the bat, maybe a mile the 1st day and then work my way back up. I also would do a ton of sit ups! 200 usually a day. To be honest with you... the only thing they really helped with was my lower back. For the last 2 weeks my lower back has been killing not to mention my neck. So I really need to get my butt exercising. It is crying for me to do it (I think).

I'm also not going to eat all the junk! I filled up on it yesterday! Today will be sensible meals. I try to do a mostly low carb diet and it works well for me. I really didn't gain much weight since December about 5 lbs, but everything is flabby again and hanging over. You know what I mean. I hate that. I just hope that it is nice out so I can get to the track today. I'm not going to over do it! I don't want to be in so much pain tomorrow that I can't do anything. I've learned that along time ago. I just want to get started. Nice and slow.

She is a 5 year old Lhasa Apso. Thats a dog, lol. We have had here since she is 2 1/2 months old. Her name is Lacey, well that is what we call her but her registered name is Heavenly Lacey Angel! she is Black with white patch under her neck and white paws. She is the love of this house. Lacey is so tender and loving you can't help yourself from loving her back. This is a photo of Lacey with my niece.
