I never knew

Ok.... I really didn't know that you could fold a t-shirt so easily. Check this out.MySpace Videos: how to fold a shirt by Sam I was blown away at how quickly she did that. I am going to try this tomorrow.

Well, did anyone look at that moon! OMG! It was a blue moon (I guess really tonight) since it is still before midnight. There was the most wonderful glow around it. It was huge also. I took some photos, but there really don't do it justice.
I also got a few pictures of the motorcycle and dh just after he took it for it's first ride of the season. I love going out on the bike, but this bike is really made just for one person. Last year, after we got this bike (or should I say after dh got this bike) we noticed that it is very difficult for a second person to be on this thing, especially for someone my size. If it was just a small kid it would be fine.2 peas challenge: With the summer beginning. Let's blog about something we are looking forward to happening I am looking forward to going back to Las Vegas in August. I can't wait. This is my "ME" time and I'm going for 2 full weeks! I can't wait to spend time with my sister, my neice, and of course my ds Jonathon. I miss him the most of all.

Really! what am I waiting for?

I'm still in pain from a toothache that I was hoping would just go away! Nope, not a chance in hell of that happening. I finally realized early this morning as I was racked with pain and now no sleep for about 5 days. I'm going to have to cave in and go to the dentist. I will try to keep everyone posted. ugh I really hate going to the dentist. I'd rather have another baby (ok... maybe not).

2 peas challenge for today:
What would you do differently if you could go back 5 years from today?
I would've gone ahead and moved to Las Vegas! I would not listen to dh say he only needs 1 more year to settle up things or whatever his excuse was that time. I just would pack up everything and go! I would not even look back. Now five years later I'm still here. Each year it was another excuse. Now I just want Joseph to finish school and then I'm outta of here. With or without any of them! My dh is full of excuses. 13 years ago it was "we have to take care of my dad". That was a 3 1/2 year ordeal, then it was "well Jonathon has just started High School". So I waited again 4 years! Of course "Shannon started started High School!". Then DJ made me feel bad because he really didn't move and wanted to go to High School here and wrestle so now its another 4 years! I'm tired of all the excuses. Oh yeah, did I mention the one "Well... I can't leave the ocean!" That one is my favorite of all! I will be moved out my June 27th, 2009! And I for one... Can't wait!

It's Q & A time

So... I was checking out Noelia's blog yesterday and she had this wonderful Q&A on there. So I decided to go for it.
20 Questions:
1. regular or diet soda:Neither, I drink mostly water
2. salt or pepper: I really don't use either except when cooking.
3. hot or cold weather:OMG... I have to go with HOT and hopefully NO humidity
4. dogs or cats: Dogs! I just love em'. I'm not a cat person at all.
5. dieting or exercise:Well for me it's gotta to be both or I'll never lose an ounce.
6. cooking or doing dishes:Definately cooking for me. I don't like cleaning, but I will clean up after myself.
7. sleeping or shopping:Hmmm.. this one is tough I'd have to say both because I can't eat when I'm sleeping and when I'm shopping I think of it as exercising. You know all that walking through the malls, that counts.
8. Red Lobster or Outback Steakhouse:It's got to be Outback Steakhouse I don't eat seafood.
9. classical or hip hop music: I'd have to say that I like classical better than Hip Hop.
10. dancing or playing sports:Another tough one.... If I had to choose just one it would have to be dancing. I'm getting too old for a lot of sports now.
11. back rub or foot rub:Give me a back rub any day!
12. fruits or vegetables:Definately Fruits, I don't eat veggies, I know I'm bad.
13. Grey's Anatomy or House:Again I have to say BOTH! I just look forward to each one every week.
14. coffee or tea:I'm a coffee girl.
15. curling up with a good book or a night out on the town:I'm perfectly happy curled up with a good book, but don't get me wrong I really enjoy a wonderful night out also.
16. Straight hair or curly hair:Curls of course! And they are all mine. Can you believe that when I was younger I had pin straight hair.I cut it all off one day 15 years ago and it grew back curly! LOVE IT!
17. skirts or shorts:I really like shorts, but lately I'm really enjoying the look of skirts.
18. burgers/hot dogs or Chinese food: Oh, it's got to be Hot Dogs with melted cheese on top of it, yummy.
19. vacationing in Switzerland or Mexico:Since I've been to Mexico once already, I'd have to say Switzerland. I would love to see it.
20. sports car or SUV: SUV all the way
Now for the 2 peas challenge for today: Answer these questions on your blog --
3 Things I like about ME are: 1. I am STRONG! I don't let people push me around and I stand up for what I believe in. 2. I love my hair. I love the color the curls pretty much everything except when its falling out, lol. 3. I guess my eyes. 3 Things I don't like about ME.. or things I could do without, about me: 1. The extra weight I've been carrying around for the last hmmmm 17 years or so. 2. I could really do without the overhanging belly I have. No matter how many sit-ups I do nothing works. I see a tummy tuck in my near future. 3. My lack of patience.
Ok thats it for me. Have fun.

Sausage Bread Anyone?

Ok, I made the sausage bread yesterday and also a chicken cutlet roll/bread! Both came out awesome.

The sausage bread I made first and as soon as it came out of the oven dh was attacking it! Heres how to make it.

Ingredients:

Pizza dough

1 pound of sausage

mozzarella (I like mozzarella, so I use about 10 oz or more)

sprinkle of parmesan cheese

1 egg

I use pizza dough (my sister uses bread dough) I like the pizza dough, it gets just a little more crispy. So I use one frozen dough and let it thaw out. While it's thawing. I get 1 pound of sausage. Its hard to find ground sausage so I just buy the links and then cut the casing off (you can also use the fresh sausage patties if available). I then brown the sausage, drain it and then I place on a tray that has paper towels so it can drain more. I then shred my mozzarella (you can use store bought in a package already done). By then my dough is usually thawed out and now I roll it out into a rectangle shape. Get out as many airbubbles as you can and make sure you use lots of flour. My dough has directions on the package for pizza and bread . I preheat the oven to 425 and make sure you grease your cookie sheet or pizza pan that you use.Once the dough has been rolled out (anywhere from 12 inches -15 inches long and about 6 inches wide) you take the sausage and put it across the middle lengthwise. Then add the the parmesan and the mozzarella. Take the egg and scramble it in a bowl. This is going to be your glue for the dough. With a brush you will brush the egg around the edges of the dough. Fold one of the end from the long side up on the sausage. Take egg and brush on the exposed part of the dough and then fold up the other long edge so then overlap. Then fold up the ends. Brush egg all ove the top and sides. I cook this in the oven for a total of 24 mins. At 12 mins I usually turn the pan around. Whala done. I make up a maranara sause for dipping and it done.

Now I also made a chicken cutlet roll pretty much the same way. Except I used full cutlets and added sauce to the mix. Can you say yummy! Here are some photos of that. This was my first time attempting the cutlet one. It came out ok, but I recommend placing the rolled out dough on the pan before adding the ingredients. The cutlets were pretty heavy and it broke through the bottom when I lifted it to the pan. Live and Learn!

Memorial Day!

Its a day to remember all the wonderful men and women, past and present, that stand strong for our country. They put themselves in harms way to protect us from danger. I applaud all of you (past and present) for a job well done.

Yesterday I went to a friends for a BBQ, the weather was very nice, not to hot and not to humid! We had a really nice time. I would love to say that I have photos, but no! I forgot the camera. I was charging the batteries and well there it sat on the dining room table as I walked out the door. I hate it when I do that.

Today, I'm going to just do some laundry and I've decided to make a sausage bread. My ds and dh just love this! ds Joseph could eat the entire thing. Maybe (if I don't forget) I will take some pic's of it. It's just a little snack for like lunch for them. We will probably BBQ later on today. Nothing really special. My kids are hardly home on the weekends now. They think its summer already! The boys still have school until June 23rd! I hate that. I wish the school year would end a little earlier. They should start them a week earlier and take away that stupid week that they give them in February! That week off in Feb. is so useless. But then again, with the way gas prices are headed they will use that as the excuse to keep it. That was the reason for that week being a break back in the late 50's to begin with.

I do have camera in hand today and hopefully will get some great photos of something or someone! I also want to get my butt down in my scraproom and yes I'm still working on those freakin' mini-albums! I have exactly 5 day's to complete them, ugh! I might just give up. I don't know what the heck I was thinking about these things. Let's just say I really wasn't thinking. The full 8x8's that I did for them last year were much easier! I'm going back to that next year!

Oh well... the washer buzzer just went off, time to get another load of wash in there. I'm on a roll! lol I hope everyone has a terrific Memorial Day!

Flowers

I have decided to join some of my friends on 2 peas with a Photo Challenge each week. Right now I'm a week behind so here is my catching up photos. The challenge was to take a photo(s) of flower(s). Now let me tell you that I do not really know anything about photographer and I only use a Panasonic DMC-LZ2 point and shoot camera. One day I will be able to get (afford) the Rebel (which I hear good things about). I really can't wait.

My week one Photo Challenge:

These are outside my back door and this 1st photo is just as they are about to really blossom.
This next photo is a bunch of them together fully opened.

And the last photo is of two perfect clusters.

I'm really excited about joining this group. I hope it will motivate me to scrapbook (which I've been lacking).

Week 2 is to take photos of signs. I can't wait to start shooting!

Have a great Weekend!

Short and Sweet!

Yep that is what this is going to be today. We were suppose to go out on the boat today (which, btw,it is just beautiful out today), but dh got a call and kinda put a halt to us going out today. We won't go out over the weekend, too many boats out there and too many boaters drinking. It becomes very dangerous. We haven't been out on the water on a weekend in years!

So today, I've decided to wash my truck! yeah.... This should be loads of fun. It really needs a good cleaning. It is filthy with tree sap and pollen stuck to it, yuck! The weather could not be more perfect today!

Sunday we have a BBQ to go to. I haven't decided on what to bring. I might just do deserts. My friend who is hosting this BBQ doesn't like anyone to bring anything, but I just feel bad when I don't. She had a big BBQ for Labor Day and it was just a huge success. No one wanted to leave. Very fun.

Oh well, I guess I will go and get on some shorts and attempt to clean this truck. I hope everyone has a TERRIFIC weekend!

Blogging early

Here it is Wednesday night, I've pretty much done nothing the entire day except take DJ to the college to get all registered! Yeah, its done, but we still need to contact the Wrestling Coach because he is going to change probably most of it. ugh. We spent 2 hours at the college today and it was pretty interesting. We've never been to this campus except to see wrestling. Like that was a surprise.

As for my scrapbooking, I have no motivation. I am not really in the groove to do anything scrapbook related even. I still have 3 mini-albums that need to be done by the end of next week. I really don't see it happening. I will have to try to cram it all in next week somewhere.

2peas challenge: What word describes your knowledge of the Internet? IDIOT! I've said it many times. I know how to sign on, get to the site I need and google. That is pretty much it.

Half way there

An extended weekend. Been looking forward to this for some time now! I don't have to wake up early to get the kids out for school (basically Joseph), but I'm sure I will end up waking up by 6:30am any way. I have an internal clock I swear.

Well, this Thursday it the Prom here and ds DJ had decided a long time ago NOT to attend. I really was not surprised since Jonathon (24) and Shannon (21) both would not attend their Prom's either. He is not going to any big parties afterwards either, that one kinda surprised me. And he opted out of going to Six Flags this weekend with a group of kids, again shocked. He decided to work Thurs, Fri, and Sat. Oh well. We have been invited to my friends this Sunday for a big BBQ and we are all looking forward to that.

Two days ago, I was talking with my sister (Las Vegas) and she was discussing with me that she and her husband are going to try to get a new vehicle by October. She really like the Rav 4 and her husband really likes the Chevy HHR (which I really like this one also). So the 2 of us were looking up both vehicles and the prices and who had them in her area, blah, blah, blah. I was constently pushing for the HHR. It's about 8-10 thousand less! Her dh always lets her get what she wants, hes so sweet. So I said, I have nothing to do tomorrow, I'll go test drive and check them out for you. She was lol. So bored as I was, so was Shannon and we went car searching. It was great fun. Now that we have test driven and sat in them.. I still really love the HHR. I'm still pushing for that one and so is Shannon. We then headed over to the Toyota dealer and tried the Rav4 and it was very nice, but for the price and what you are getting, I'm going with the HHR. I called my sister each time and she was like OMG, I can't believe that you are actually doing this. So this weekend her and dh are going to test drive both vehicles. Shannon and I had a BLAST. BTW Shannon fell in love with the Toyota Highlander Hybrid. Very nice, but expensive for a 21 year old.

let's blog about relationships. What are some of your most treasured relationships? Right now?? Blog about them... We I think you may have guessed that I have a few treasured relationships.
1. My sister Tracy- we are very close and I treasure every moment I get to spend with her. We even X-mas shop over the phone together. She is 6 years younger than I and I was always taking her with me wherever I went growing up.
2. My dh- Believe me, We have had many, many ups and downs during our 25years together, but I think we are soul mates. Sometimes I love him to death and others I just wish he would just leave.LIfe
3.My kids- Each one is special in its own way. It's almost hard to explain, but with 4 of them it can get crazy!

Well that's it, I'm off to jump in for a shower and I have to take DJ to get registered and get his classes scheduled for COLLEGE this morning. They say to expect to be there for over 2 hours. I'm bringing a book!

I just love this song. I hope that this works and it comes right up as an entry. Still experimenting.

Tom Rush - Remember Song

You Tube?

Ok, I am a complete idiot when it comes to computers and what you can do with them. I see how everyone can change their header on their blogs , add slide shows, you can add music selections and even You Tube videos. I am completely CLUELESS! I tried this morning to add a You Tube video on here for today and when I was done it said that it would be on my blog very shortly. Well it's been over 2 hours. I'm thinking that is not shortly, but what do I know? So I'm going to try to add it as a link on here. Wish me luck YouTube - Tom Rush - Remember Song WOW I think it actually worked! Yeah for me. This song is so me lately! Very cute. I should ask one of my kids how to do this kind of stuff, but to be honest they get all pissed off that I don't already know, so it's useless.

Ok... so I was bored a little yesterday and really didn't want to do a thing (like this is different from any other day lately), so I just started to take some photos of me. Now these are not the best photos in the world (and never will be). I look very old and haggered that's all I can say. I never take a really nice photo this I already know. It's very rare. That's why there are hardly any photos of me. But I'm thinking of doing an All About Me Album soon and I need some photos.

So there you have it! Wow.. just realized that my font color almost matches my hair. lol.

2peas Challenge: Blog about something you are PASSIONATE about. COULD BE ANYTHING... Just share about something, someone anything, that you are insanely passionate about. Blog about it and share! Well most of you know that I'm very passionate about WRESTLING! Not that crap you see on TV. I'm talking about Folkstyle (Scholastic), Freestyle and Greco-Roman Wrestling. I think I live for it. I just love watching the kids excel year after year from the beginning when I helped start up the Kid Wrestling program here in my town. This was 12 years ago! I love to watch the little guys learn more and more each year. And then when they are finally let go from the kid program (after they finish 6th grade) I get to watch them achieve more during their 7th and 8th grade years. Then it's on to High School where they are playing with the big boys now. It's just wonderful to watch how much they have learned through the years with the program. I love being a part of this whole process with them. I watch them from youngsters to teens and then on to young men. I really must love it, why else would I spend over 12 hours on a wonderful Saturday or Sunday in a hot smelly gym, sitting on the most uncomfortable bleachers in the world even when my own kids are not wrestling? Or how about the day after I had a major surgery and was not supposed to leave the hospital. I'm just crazy about it!

Ok...

I've got to get my butt in gear here. Lot's of cleaning needs to be done to this house and I've also got to run to the school to drop off paper work for Joseph and the Post Office. Have a great day!

Where did.....

the weekend go! Before I knew it, it was over. We had some dreary weather for most of the weekend and I really didn't feel like do much of anything. Friday was spent in bed the entire day due to my flair up. I just move or do a thing. Saturday did get a little better and the weather started to clear up which was nice. Sunday was suppose to rain and it never really did. The sun came out for a while and started to dry everything up,which was really nice.

Danny and Joseph went to test drive the boat to make sure nothing needed to be done on it before it really hits the water for the summer. Here are some of the photos I took of them out in the Bay.

Danny and I went out yesterday for a lunch/dinner for me. My dh has horrible times in which he eats. He likes to eat lunch at about 3pm and then he gets mad that I'm making dinner at 6pm. I do not like to eat late. I've also had dinner usually by 5:30-6pm depending on what was going on. Now that DJ and Shannon both don't get home from work until 6:30pm that is what time I try to have dinner on the table. I normal won't eat that late.

I have some running around to do today. And then of course, I'm still trying to get in the groove to finish those mini-albums which now have been come my headache!

Thursday, May 17, 2007

It's Thursday

I have nothing special going on. Just a quick update for today. DJ and I went to the ALL-STAR meet last night. I have to tell you, it was really nothing special. None of the great wrestlers were wrestling. I really thought we would see some awesome wrestling last night, but no.

Yesterday, I pretty much did nothing. I've been battling a toothache for the last two days. It comes and goes. I'm going to have to try to get into the dentist. I don't like dentists at all.ugh

It looks like it is going to be sunny and on the cool side today. So my plan is to get my behind out on the track this morning and go for a tan. I then hope to finish one of 4 mini-albums (which are getting the best of me). I've got 2 more weeks to finish those suckers! Hope I can.
Ok,,, gotta hit the track. Trying to lose 15 pounds! Wish me luck, lately I need it

New Sunglasses

Yes, I've finally taken a few photos of my new sunglasses. They are geeky, but I really like them. I need full sun coverage for my eyes at all times. About 14 years ago I had to have my eyes totally reconstructed due to Graves Disease. So pretty much from my eyebrows to my cheekbones have been redone.

Also, as I promised, I took some photos of the jewlery box that Joseph made me for Mother's Day! It is really nice and pretty big. He really is not done with it. He wants to put a fabric bottom in it and a mirror on the inside of the top.

Yesterday (really today), the weather never got as nice as they said it would. So I did not relax in the wonderful sunshine. There was plenty of sunshine, but it was so damn windy that you would freeze. I had to wear a sweatshirt the entire day. And of course, it is suppose to rain all day Wednesday! ugh.

2 peas challenge: What are three things that are on your desk that shouldn’t be? blog about it. Hmmmm. lets see..... There is a ton of papers that should not be on here, ds' car towel (don't ask), and a disco light (again, don't even ask, those kids of mine just drop stuff on here all time). There is also a screwdriver (I don't want to know why) and an empty plastic cup. Ohhh well something else for me clean.

Terrific Tuesday

Well, that is what they are saying. They being the weather men and women. Looking outside right now it sure doesn't seem that way, that's for sure. I hope the sun will come out like they say it is suppose to. I just love wonderful sunny days. Today is suppose to be the best day of the week here. I'm planning on taking full advantage of it if it happens.

I had a very relaxing Mothers Day and hope everyone else did also. I did have to take DJ to the doctor at 10:30am, still can't believe that they were open. Everything is going to fine with his rash. Just have to keep putting lotion on it til its gone.

Danny and I went to Boaters World (of course not for me). He needed paint for the boat, but I did get a new pair of sunglasses.

I then sat out in the yard for about 1 hr. taking in all the wonderful sunshine that would come my way.

Shannon and I went to see the movie "Georgia Rule". I have to tell you that it was a little shocking, but funny. I really loved it and so did Shannon. I don't want to give anything away, but I just loved the part where Jane Fonda tells Lindsay Lohnans character "F" you! I thought I was going to fall off the chair. I couldn't get over Jane saying that. I don't know why, just couldn't.

After the movie, we came home and had pizza! I love it that I didn't have to cook! Then the kids gave me their gifts. Joseph actually made me a wonderful jewlery box in his tech class. It came out wonderful. I will take some photos of it later on. I know he still wanted to put something on it. You can tell he put a lot of thought into it.

Well thats it for me today. I still need to finish those mini- albums that I just can't seem to get done. I hope I can in the next 2 weeks. Hope you all have a great day!

Happy Mothers Day!

Here it is Mother's Day! A day of relaxing for most mom's. Not this one. DH decided to be an idiot this morning and wake me up at 7am saying that he needed breakfast (he never eats breakfast), just wanted to aggravate me. I just ignored him and turned the other way. then he did it again... at 9am! I just wanted to sleep in for once! Friday night I was out with friends until 2:45am Saturday and I got up early at 6am! Shoot just give me a break for one day. I wanted to just punch him in the face this morning. I just ended up getting up made coffee, jumped in for a quick shower and got dressed. I had to take DJ to the Dermatologist this morning (I couldn't believe that they were open on a Sunday first and then Mother's Day to boot).

We came home from the Dr. and dh decided to be nice for a change. So we took a ride to the Boat store (like that is where I really wanted to be, lol) he needed to get paint for the boat. I did however get a new pair of sunglasses. I need sunglasses that fit all around my eyes for protection and these were really nice.

DD is taking me to the movies later on today. We are going to see Georgia Rule with Jane Fonda, and Lindsay Lohnan,It also has the lady from Desparate Housewifes (the blonde, just can't think of her name and I love her).

Other than that, nothing else is going on here. I hope you all have a terrific Mothers Day!

To be 18 again.

Ahhhh. To be 18 again. I don't know if I would want to do it again. If I did though I know I would make some major changes in my life. I'm sure I would not get married and have pregnant at 18! The only good that was, was that I had my kids really early in life. I was one of the young moms. I don't mind I actually enjoyed it. It was something that I decided to do with my life at the time. And I have no regrets about it all.

You may ask why I'm saying all this today. Well my ds DJ turned 18 yesterday! He still has his whole life ahead of him. He actually has a very good plan. He is going to graduate High School next month. Go to Nassau Community College next year, taking Liberal Arts classes to get them out of the way and wrestling for the best Division 3 wrestling team in probably the country.

Its really hard to believe that 18 years ago he was born. Even harder to believe is that fact that he weighed 9 lbs 15 oz! and was 19 inches long. He was my little butterball. He was also my only baby to come on his exact due date. To this day, he lates to be early or late. He is so cute.

Last night we had ice cream cake (his favorite). It was just really us, immediate family. The photos didn't come out very clear and they all have an orange tint to them. I think thats from my walls.

What do you get for an 18 year old boy???? Well I decided it was just easier to give him money.

dd Shannon and ds Joseph gave him a bunch of scratch off's. He won a few bucks with them. And we can't forget that Lacey was waiting patiently for her ice cream cake also. She is so funny.Thats it for Birthday news here.

What a day!

Yesterday was a very wacky day here. Danny and I went out on the boat late morning and drove around to the inlet. It was cool on the water, but nice. As we were going under the 2nd bridge I noticed that the lighthouse had a fog over it. It just looked funny like that. The weather channel said that the fog was going to lift by early morning and it really didn't. Here is a photo of the light house. It just has an eerie feeling to it.
Then we went into the ocean, ugh! The waves were crazy! And all of a sudden it got pitch dark out. You couldn't see a thing. I was like , ok, lets get the heck back over to cove (Sore Thumb).
The fog was just rolling in like crazy. For about 45 mins you couldn't even see 10 feet away from you. Then it cleared up and was all sunshine for about 2 hours. We then decided to go back in. While driving back we ended up in the fog. It really didn't go very far that is for sure. And it was kind of foggy for most of the ride home.

Here is a photo of Danny drive our vessel. He looks so goofy with that freakin' hair. I wish he would finally cut it off. It is really horrible. Here are the Party/Fishing boats that dock at Captree Boat Basin. We really had a good day out there despite the fog. It was very relaxing and calm. Just what I needed.

Today is ds DJ's 18th Birthday! Yahoo. So we are having cake later on tonight. DJ was asked to wrestle in the Nassau vs Suffolk Championships which are next week and he said yes! That is a big honor. So he has practice tonight til' about 8pm. I hope that doesn't interfer with my Grey's tonight. Hopefully it will be on again tomorrow, just in case.

Come back tomorrow for Birthday photos!

What a Beautiful Day!

Today is suppose to be the best day of the week. It is very sunny out right now and warming up nicely. I'm pretty sure dh and I are going to be taking the boat for a few hours and just relax in the wonderful sunshine.

I do not have anything else planned for the day except to continue working on my mini album. Which seems to be taking forever. It is really pretty simple but alot of cutting.

I still need to order DJ's Birthday Cake for tomorrow. I still can't believe that he is going to be 18 tomorrow! Boy the time just really flies by.

Ok... getting out of here today. Enjoy your day everyone

What a Weekend

DJ and I went upstate to Binghamton, NY for the Freestyle/ Greco-Roman Wrestling State Championships. It was just a wonderful ride which took up about 3 1/2 hours to get there. We picked up 2 other boys that really wanted to wrestle up there also, but didn't have a way to get there. We had two cars that went up. I had 3 boys and the other car had 2. So not bad odds- 3 adults to 5 teenage boys!

Binghamton was just wonderful. Of course we spent most of our time in a hockey arena which had wall to wall wrestling mats in it, but that was what we were there for. Day one had a ton of wrestling for us. DJ was pretty much on fire! he won his first 2 matches in 2 periods (which is very good). Drew won his 1st match and lost the 2nd. Carter won his 1st match and lost his 2nd also. Frank did do very well in Freestyle and lost his 2 matches. Chris was wrestling Greco on the 1st day and he lost his 2 matches also. By the end of the evening (almost 10pm) we were all exhausted!

Day 2 brought more excitement. DJ was still on fire. He won his 1st match of the day, but got injured during the match. He never even gave me a hint that he was hurt and still continued to wrestle that match and won in 2 periods! About 30 mins later he came up to the stands and he looked like death. He dislocated his shoulder again! His next match was a BYE (which means the kid he was suppose to wrestle dropped out) so we said , lets see if the swelling goes down and maybe he would be able to move the shoulder. Of course that didn't happen! He couldn't even move his hand! He was now done and he probably would've place 2nd in this tournament and been able to go to Nationals!

I have to say that I think both of us were pretty sad that he couldn't finish out the tournament. He was wrestling sooooo well. He really deserved to wrestle injury free. He works so freakin' hard for this every year. Oh well, nothing you can do now. Just move on to Empire Games in 4 weeks from now. Hopefully, he will be able to wrestle then. Here are just a few of the photos of DJ wrestling. The first photo DJ is wearing the red and black striped uniform (singlet). He is facing the camera.
The next 2 photos DJ is wearing the blue uniform

We really had a great time the whole weekend. I would love to just go up there (especially this time of the year) and relax.

Ok.... I will update a little more tomorrow and hopefully I will have some of my mini album loaded up to show you. It is nothing too special, just something for the coach to remember the year. Until tomorrow.

On a Roll!

Well, for now anyway, lol. I can't believe that I managed to blog 3 days in a row now. This was just impossible for me to do for the past 2 weeks. Maybe I'm starting to come out of my slump. I sure hope so.

Last night, dh and I drove to College Point. This is a big deal for most people that live on Long Island. We don't like driving anywhere near there. Not that it's a bad area or anything like that. We just are uncomfortable, the streets are mostly one way, and you seem to get lost very quickly, especially when you don't know where the heck you are going. Dh was funny and said "OMG, this is like driving in the city!" OK... he has maybe driven to the city once in his life, lol. Its always an adventure when you drive anywhere with him. First he is ADD, and Second he is bi-polar. Like I said "Thrilling!". I'm always afraid to mention that he missed a turn or turned the wrong way or needs to be in a different lane because you don't know if he is going to blow up at you. It can be very frustrating. Anyway we made it to College Point with just one little yell and actually made it home with none! This was an amazing car ride to say the least.

It was kind of funny that while we were driving home dh just comes out and says to me, "I don't enjoy anything anymore". Well, I've noticed that for some time now. He does not like to do anything with the kids anymore and really just wants to sit in his garage all day long. To be honest with you, he has just gotten worse each week lately. So he then says to me "I think I need to get help". I nicely said "well, you know your body better then anyone else, if you feel like that, then you probably do need to see someone." He has not been to a counselor for over 2 years now. He counsleor (who was a wonderful woman) had past away just over 2 years ago and he just doesn't want to have to start all over with someone new. I really don't blame him. Its hard enough to open up the first time to someone who doesn't know anything about you, who wants to do it a second time! I am happy though that he sees that he does need some help. I really hope that he goes.

Other news.... ds D.J. and I are getting ready for our trip upstate to Binghamton! This is a 4 hour drive, ugh. We are leaving bright and early tomorrow morning. This is sure to be an adventure with D.J. . He is not a navigator! I like it when ds Joseph goes with me, he is a great navigator. DJ is just there for the ride. He does not care if you get lost, just get him there in time.lol

Today, I've got to get my car cleaned for the big trip, and oil change, and fill er' up. I also have to get some drinks and food and get the laundry done so we can pack everything today and load it all in the truck tonight. I just want to get up in the morning, make coffee and head out. We have to be on the road by 6:45am to miss most of the traffic. Wish us luck!

2 peas challenge for today: What is one country in the world you really would love to travel to? blog about it.
I would love to go to Italy! Friends of ours went last year and they said it was just wonderful. They stayed there for over 2 weeks and they just can't wait to go back. They said that it was quite different then what you would expect. I would just love to see all the wonderful buildings, art and land. Maybe one day I will be able to afford to go there. Ok... TTFN .. Have a great day!

It's May!

Well, as you can see I really have not been blogging lately. Just really haven't been into it at all. I'm sure a lot of us have gone through this. Just didn't care at all about anything really. Hopefully, today will bring new excitement to me. It's a new day! I'm just muddling through to be honest with you.

Yesterday was just a wonderful day! I pretty much just sat out in the backyard and did nothing! Yes, I said nothing! That really pissed off dh, but I said to myself, Self- your down in the dumps ..... do something for you! So I did. I just laid there for hours basking in the wonderful sunshine and just taking in all the wonderful sounds around me.

I've been trying to get myself motivated with some of my scrapbooking. I've really have got to get 4- 5x7 albums done in 3 weeks! This is a huge challenge for me and hopefully one that I can manage to get through.

The only other thing that has me pre-0ccupied is getting ready for the long drive upstate to Binghamton, NY so that ds D.J. can wrestle in STATES! I'm just hoping that everything goes well and he wrestles well up there. This is a 3 day tournament. It is a just the drive that kills me! It's 4 hours.

Ok,,, until tomorrow my friends.
