Its Crunch Time

Here it is... Crunch Time. Yesterday, I went out to try to finish up with everything for dd. I did a pretty good job I have to say. When I got home, my ds DJ wanted to see what I got for her. So, I started to take everything out of the bag and show him. Everything was great! I get to the last item a very lovely blouse and of course just then noticed that one of the tie back strings was ripped off the blouse. I was so mad. I can't believe that I didn't notice it when I was in the store. I must've looked at that damn blouse and held it up to match colors with gauchos about 6 times. I'm so mad at myself. So guess where I will be going back to today! ugh Just when I thought I was done! You know they are not going to have another blouse in the same size so that means that I'm going to have to look all over this store again for something to match the gauchos that I got her. This is very frustrating.
As for other news going on here. DJ is sick as a dog! Which is not a good thing. He is still wrestling. I told him not to but what do I know, 17 year olds, they know everything. DH is PMSing! This is something that seems to happen every single holiday so everyone else ends up being miserable just like he is. OMG. I swear next year I'm getting away from them all and spending the holidays far away. Well at least DH. He has actually turned out to be a Grumpy Old Man. Just like his father. Didn't think it would happen to him , but it did. Oh well, I guess I just need to grin and bear it this year just like the past.
I'm not so sure what is going on for the rest of the weekend here. I know I've got to get my baking done. Which I really wanted to start yesterday, but never got around to it. I hope everyone has a wonderful Holiday.

3 more days

Well, we have 3 more days for Christmas. I'm pretty much done, just need to get my dd's boyfriend something. Probably a gc to their fav. place Applebees. Everything is also wrapped and ready to go! yeah for me. This is a first. Normally I'm up till 4am Christmas Eve wrapping and getting everything under the tree.
Today I have some baking that needs to be done. And boy, does this house need a good cleaning. I'm not supposed to be doing anything still (post-surgery only a week ago), but I can tell you that no else in this house is going to do a damn thing but just sit back and watch it all grow around them. They are all lazy. I think next Christmas I will go to Las Vegas and actually enjoy myself. Peace and quite. As the kids get older, they don't want to be around you anymore. This never happened when I was growing up. My sisters, and brothers always looked forward to spending the holidays together. Not the kids today. They don't want to be anywhere near a parent, lol.
Last night was another night full of Wrestling. It was hard to sit in the gym for 5 hours again. We did it Wednesday night also. I hate when we have back to backs, but that is life. Here are 2 photos of my son wrestling last night. My digi, just doesn't get a really good clear photo sometimes. If they move just a little bit, its a blur. BTW he is the one in green. He won this match 6-1.

I'm not sure if I'm going to get a chance to get back on here before the Holidays. So I'm wishing everyone a very Happy, Healthy, and Safe Holiday.

Todays Thursday 13

Todays Thursday 13:
Things I would like to change
1. I would like to change where I live. ( I hate it here and can't wait to move to the warmer, less humid climate of Nevada)
2. I need to change my eating habits.
3. I would love to change my wardrobe. ( Nothing every fits me right)
4. I would like to be more organized.
5. I would also love to be more of a clean freak. (I'm one of those people that clean when it really needs cleaning)
6. I think I can fly off the handle sometimes so I need to change how I am able to cope with things.
7. I would love to go from my so-so Ford Explorer to a nice Nissan Murano.
8. I think after 15 long years as a red head, I might want to change to a brunette.
9. I would like to attend church more than I do.
10. I think that I can be a better person (that would be a big change)
11. Sometimes I wish I wasn't so bull headed. (I just don't give in)
12. Today I wish I could change my HUSBAND! (its his pms time, and it happens for every holiday, joy for me)
13. I wish I could change the weather (I hate the cold)

Tiring Weekend

Hi everyone! I've been missing again. I had a very hectic week and was not feeling well either. My cold (a head cold) started last Sunday. That was just the start of the week for me. This cold just lingered. I had to stay home most of the week and try to sweat this one out because I was having surgery on Friday. I was lucky and it was pretty much all gone by Friday morning. Surgery went on without a hitch. Of course most people would take it easy for a few days after surgery, but not me.... I had to be at a Wrestling Tournament all day on Saturday and was not going to miss it for anything. That was 13 hours in a gym! What was I thinking??? I sure made up for yesterday. I could barely move and slept until about 10am which I never do.
Wrestling was TERRIFIC! Our team did an outstanding job at this tournament. There were 8 school teams there (ours is the biggest with 70 boys) and a lot of matches going on. My son DJ took 2nd place at the 130 weight pound class. Here are some photos of him.
The photo below he is the kid in the green uniform and you can see his face. I usually can't get a good photo because they are moving so fast that I end up with their rear ends in the camera.
The photo above he is pinning the kid he is going against. He won this match by getting that pin. It was a very long day that is for sure. Our team came home with a lot of trophies and that makes me happy. They really give it their all.
Well, I'm going to go for now. I need to get some rest. I really couldn't sleep that good last night. I also have a dr. appt this afternoon to check the stitches. I will hopefully be back later tonight or tomorrow. Hope everyone has a great day.

Favorite Christmas Song?

2 peas challenge for today: Your fave Christmas song? Which one is it? blog about it! Well, My favorite Christmas song is " I saw Mommy Kissing Santa Claus" I have always loved this song. I'm not really sure why, but I think its just a very cute song. When I hear it I get warm all over.

Get to know me Christmas

Bonnie Rose had this posted on her blog today so I decided I could not sleep, why not do it. So here it is:
1. Egg Nog or Hot Chocolate?
Hot Chocolate!
2. Does Santa wrap presents or just sit them under the tree? He wraps them of course!
3. Colored lights on tree/house or white? We have colored lights on our tree and everything outside
4. Do you hang mistletoe? No
5. When do you put your decorations up? It is never the same every year.Just whenever I have the time or my kids finally say " Our we ever going to put the tree up?" lol . This year my dd took control and got the tree up and we started decorating on Wednesday.
6. What is your favorite holiday dish? I really don't know if I have a Favorite dish, but I love lasangna
7. Favorite Holiday memory as a child: I always remember my grandmother coming to stay with us the day after Christmas and it was always something that I just loved. She would stay with us for 2 months. After a month my grandfather would come and stay for the other month with her. That was the only time each year we got to see them unless we drove to NY (we lived in FL) in the summer to visit.
8. When and how did you learn the truth about Santa? This is a little fuzzy,,, I think my I was about 9 and it was a year that my parents decided to get all 5 kids new bikes for Christmas. You should've seen my dad trying to get all these bikes together in the middle of the night. Very noisy.
9. Do you open a gift on Christmas Eve? We usually open one gift on Christmas Eve which is an old family tradition. I don't really know why we do, but we do.
10. How do you decorate your Christmas tree? My tree is a mish mosh of everything. It does not have a theme. It is covered with everything that my kids made while in grade school for Christmas and ornaments that me and the kids would make while they were growing up.
11. Snow! Love it or Dread it? Don't like snow... don't like winter, give the sunshine and the hot summer (no humidity, please!)
12. Can you ice skate? I could when I was younger. Now I would probably fall all over the ice.
13. Do you remember your favorite gift? I do! It was a beautiful blonde haired doll that spoke french. The dolls hair was pretty and you could make it long or short by pushing a button in her head. lol I don't remember what she was called, but she was my fav gift when I was younger.
14. What's the most important thing about the Holidays for you? For me, its about giving. And it doesn't have to be a gift. I try to show my kids that you can give in many different ways. Donate your time. Help someone in need. The gift of giving.
15. What is your favorite Holiday Dessert?I want to say my favorite dessert is Bonnie Roses "Sex in a Pan" but I don't have a clue what it is. So I will have to go with my grandmothers ribbons. I don't know what they are really called, because my grandmother always called them ribbons and on her old receipe cards she even titled it Ribbons! When I make them next week I will post photos.
16. What is your favorite holiday tradition? I love just spending time with the family and friends.
17. What tops your tree? I have this beautiful angel all lit up on the top of my tree. She has been topping my tree for over 20 years now.
18. Which do you prefer giving or receiving? Giving, that's a no brainer.
19. What is your favorite Christmas Song? I saw mommy kissing Santa Clause. I just love that song!
20. Candy Canes? I love them.. mostly cinnamon but I also love peppermint.

Hair Style??

2 peas challenge: Blog about your perfect hairstyle. Well, I have pretty curly hair and I just love it! I really don't like my hair straight at all. When I do get to have it done straight everyone comments on how different I look with it straight. If you ask me ... Straight hair is not me at all! I just love my curls and don't know what I would do with out them now that I have them. Here is a photo of my hair like I normally wear it now. It is very long for curly hair and longer than I've ever had. I'm really due for a major hair cut.
Here is a photo with it curly and shorter. This is the way I really love it. It is also a more copper red color.
And here it is straight. A big difference.

ugh... try not to look at the double chin! of course when it is straight the red hair really stands out strong! lol...

Memories

2 peas challenge: How do you keep your Christmas memories? In what kind of album? theme albums? mini albums? What do you do? Well, I take lots of photos and believe it or not I video tape everything on Christmas. I only started scrapbooking a little over a year ago, so all my photos are either in a reg. album or in a photo box and I have all my video tapes in a storage box also. I love looking back when the kids were little. So much fun.
Here is another layout I managed to finish up. I really like this one with my boys. I just love the black and white lately. My 2 sons out at Sore Thumb tubing! What fun. Isn't DJ funny? He is always doing some kind of macho pose lately.

Well, have to make this short and sweet again. One day this week I might be able to play catch up with everyone. Wishing everyone a Wonderful day!

Short and Sweet

Today will be short and sweet, I promise. Here is a layout that I finally finished. It is of me and my dd. Sorry that picture isn't that great but you get a good idea of what it looks like. It is rare that the 2 of us are together in a photo. We are usually the ones taking the pictures at everything and actually the big photo Shannon snapped for us. She is pretty good at taking a photo of herself. Ok.. I'm out of here for now. Have to get ready for work. Hope everyone has a great day

Traditions

2peas challenge for today: What are some of the annual traditions you do every year during the Holiday season? blog about them... Well for us, its all about wrestling this time of year. I know that is weird but that is what we do. Me and the kids will also do our baking and make my grandmothers "ribbons" (they are pretty much fried pastry dough with powdered sugar). This Sunday coming up (as long as the weather holds up) we will put up the tree and the lights outside. But that is really it. When my whole family was still here we would do a Christmas Eve party at my parents, but they are in Las Vegas now and so are my sisters, brothers, and my oldest son. Its not the same anymore. I miss those times. I can't wait til' I'm there for good also. Then the tradition will continue!

The sun is shining

Well the sun is shining, but not for long. I hear that we are getting a small Nor'Easter. For those of you that don't know what that is, it is basically a rain, sleet, and snow storm. Here on Long Island we are only suppose to get the rain and ice. I personally would rather have the snow (as much as I hate it). The ice is a pain in the butt to drive in. oh well we will see what happens. These weather people have been wrong many times before.
I'm so excited. I finally got some scrapbooking done. I'm going to take a few photos of my layouts later today and hopefully get them posted today also. I like how most of them came out.
I have a ton of things to do today, like clean this dirty house that I just cleaned yesterday (how does that happen???). Do a lot of laundry (it never ends). And if I get a chance do some grocery shopping. I know my list is small but I have a lot of chores that I' ve been overlooking and just need to be done and this is my only weekend to get it done. So everyone have a great day!

Wind & Rain,ugh

Updating early! Its still Friday night and can't sleep. So here I am.
Its days like these that I just want to curl up in my nice warm, heated bed and watch a good movie! ugh. The wind gusts are up to 60mph that is almost hurricane like OMG. The rain has been off and on for most of the day and it has just been very gray and gloomy. I really don't like this weather at all which I have mentioned a million times in the past. Give me hot and dry weather and I will be a happy camper, lol.
The 2 peas challenge for today is: what is one current movie out there that you just can't wait to see? If not current, what dvd that is out.. that you really wanna see? Well, I really want to go see that new movie with Danny DeVito and Matthew Broderick. It is a Christmas themed movie and looks soooo funny. For whatever reason, I can not remember the name of the movie. (my brain is shutting down). And the other movie that I want to see (because my 7 yr old neice said "Aunt Lynnie, you have to go and see it) is Happy Feet!

5 Things I enjoyed today

I am posting early. It is only Thursday here, ugh. and this is the 2 peas Friday challenge: list 5 things you enjoyed today. Well being that I have not gotten to Friday yet , these are the things that I enjoyed Thursday. lol

1. That I actually woke up this morning.

2. I enjoyed my first cup of coffee this morning.
3. I enjoyed a 45 min. nap this afternoon (really needed that).
4. I received a wonderful phone call from a new wrestling mom.
5. Talked with my sister Tracy this afternoon.
The rest of my day was pretty stinky, lol. These were the only 5 things so far today that I actually enjoyed. So sad,,, (boooo whoooo).
On another note..... I went to pick up my glasses! ugh... I went to the eye doctor about 10 days ago and apparently I'm almost blind in my left eye. This really does stink! I've had almost perfect vision most of my life and I did notice that in the last, say,,, 5 months it getting worse. So here is a wonderful photo of my new glasses that I just can't use to wearing and I get a headache after wearing them for about 30 mins. This is going to take some time I see.. (pun,,)

Ok everyone, Hope you all have a wonderful day!

Yours, Mine and Ours

Ok peas, I think we may have done this challenge before, but I like it so I will do it again! My all time Favorite Holiday Movie is.......... Yours, Mine and Ours. This is the one with Henry Fonda, Lucille Ball, and Tim Matheson. I just love this movie. Last year I finally found it on the shelves of Best Buy and bought it for my self. My kids were like what the heck are we watching? I just told them they didn't have to watch, they have a freakin TV in their own rooms.... GET OUT and don't bother me during my movie, what brats I have, lol.
I know there are a few new movies in the theatres now. I want to see the one with Danny DeVito and Matthew Broderick. That one looks too funny. I did go see the Santa Clause 3 the other day. It was ok, not as good as the others. Martin Short was funny as usual.
Here is another layout I was able to get done. Still working on that CJ that needs to get out this week. It is almost done, just some embellishments need to be put on.

This one again, is of Andre' Agassi ( I hope this is not the same one that I posted yesterday, I think I'm losing my mind) at the US OPEN 2006. The journaling reads: This is the face of Andre' Agassi. To most people he is just another tennis player, but to me he is a tennis LEGEND! His FACE, his SMILE, and his tennis GREATNESS have been exciting us for 20 years. This year Danny and I were determined to get to the Open, we had to see him, even if we had to watch from the courtyard on the big screen outside. This was one of the most thrilling matches I've seen. I was on the edge of my seat hoping that he would win this and he did. Being at the US Open at that moment is one of the highlights of my life and I will never forget it.
Of course these photos are from the big screen in the court yard. I can't believe how great they came out. Well, off to do some more laundry, take a shower, go to work(ugh), do more laundry, get ready for my parents meeting with my wrestling parents and my body sculpting class (which I don't think is really working, lol). Have a Great Day.

Busy, Busy, Busy

Well, this is a very busy time of year for me. Not only with the holidays here, but so is WRESTLING season! Wrestling is my life from November-March full time and then its part-time until August. I just love this sport. I know a lot of people really don't get it and don't like it at all, but I'm one of those crazy people out there that do love it. Since I'm President of the Wrestling Booster Club, I've very involved in what is going on. Tomorrow night we (the coaches) having are mandatory parent meeting. I will be happy if just half the parents show. Most of the parents don't show up for this at all and then have the nerve to complain that they didn't know what was going on. Those are the people that urk me! Those people will also be the ones that will tell me that didn't have a clue that we were hosting the biggest event this year Leagues. I am really looking forward to this even though it is 3 weeks after our own tournament and it is tons of hard work. I do depend on the parents to help out with these 2 events. I hope that it will be as wonderful as our tournament last year.
Ok, as stated yesterday, I was able to get some layouts done. Here is another one for you.

This is one of tennis great Andre' Agassi! I just love him. Danny and I were so happy that we got to go to the Open this year and watch a ton of awesome tennis. These pictures are (believe it or not) from the HUGE screen outside the arena by the food courts. I think they came out pretty good.
Ok, I really wanted to make this short and sweet today, lol. I hope everyone has a TERRIFIC Tuesday!

Happy Monday!

I hope everyone had a wonderful Thanksgiving! I had a very hectic one. No one special came over, it was just dh and the kids, but it was just crazy it seemed.
Did anyone go shopping on Friday???? I know I was up and out at the mall by 5am! Yes, I was one of those crazy people out there. I did notice that there were way more people out at that time then normal on Black Friday. I have been doing this for over 16 years and the lines were just insane no matter what store you went into. I would normally go to Walmart then off to JC Penneys and then jump in the car and head over to Circuit City. This year I did not do Walmart and went right to JC's and I could not believe the people! The same thing when I got over to Circuit City. And Circuit City didn't even have anything I wanted! I was shocked! I usually spend at least 200.00 in there on Black Friday and this time I only spent 24.00!
I also was able to get a little scrapbooking done this week since I did not have any work. yeah!!! finally.

This is a layout of the men in my life that still live at home! lol I really like how the black and white photos look against the bright colors. I will try to post more tomorrow. Got to get to work now. Don't want to be late.

I've been bad

Ok, I've been a very bad blogger the last week. Things got crazy at work and then all my Dr. appts made me crazy. I had to tell my boss last week that I can not work my normal 6 hr days due to a medical problem (yes, another one) and my dr really doesn't want me to work at all right now but I really need to for finanical reasons. So I talked my dr. into letting me work at least 4 hrs a day. My boss was pretty good with it, but decided to keep me in my position and give someone else the opportunity to do all my prep work in the mornings for me. This is where it got crazy! He asked me to discuss the opportunity with the other 2 women who normal work 4 hour shifts and see which one would like to come in early. Of course the older woman (68) said right away.. ohhhh... I'll do it! What do I have to do? So, I explained to her what needed to be done in the morning before I got there. The very first thing out of her mouth was (I kid you not) "Well,,,, I don't want everyone to be mad at me when I don't get this stuff all done" I almost fell on the ground. She want's this because the other woman (younger) really needs the money, she is a single mom and for some weird reason thinks everyone is out for her job! On that note,,, I left the building and called my boss and told him that all hell broke loose again with her. Ok... changing the subject.
I have not done any scrapbooking and that really ticks me off. I have a CJ that I would like to have in the mail by Saturday. Of course I would've had it all done by now, but complications arose with the person who sent it to me. I only got it 5 days ago and should've gotten it like November 3rd! So,,, yeah I'm behind.
Other than that I really don't have much more to report. I will try to be a better blogger. Ok.. I'm off... I have to go for my monthly infusion. Have a great day!

Tuesday, November 14, 2006

Hmmmm, Who do I look like?

Ok... here is todays version of my celebrity matches! I still can't believe that popped up with Al Pacino as a match for me.. I'm not sure I like that, lol I really don't think I look anything like Al Pacino. Bette Midler ok.. maybe... but Pacino.
BTW... Did I mention that it is another crappy day! The last 3-4 days have been on the warm side but rainy and windy. My body is starting to go into flair up mode. That means that all my arthritis' and muscle diseases' are going crazy and giving me pain.
Ok enough about me today, lol... The 2peas challenge: Do you send out Christmas cards or letters? what are you doing this year?? Blog about it.. handmade or store bought? ..... I still send out cards. I love getting them ready. It does take me time to sign them especially when I'm not feeling well. I will doing store bought this year, mainly because my hands just can't make them any more. Hope everyone has an awesome day!

Could this be true??

I am not too sure about this. But it is kind of funny. I can't believe that it didn't add my photo. I used one from the other day with my hair straight! good gosh... I also tried it with one of my fav photos with my hair like normal.. (I think it might even be my aviatar photo on 2 peas..) and guess what? It came up that I matched several men! including Al Pacino! Wholy crap! I look more like a male I guess. I will try to post that one tomorrow.lol
2peas challenge:What's a trip you took as a child that you will always remember. and why??? blog about it. I guess mine would be my Senior class trip. There were about 80 kids (out of 325 seniors) that decided to go on this trip. It was a cruise to the Bahamas! 7 days, 6 nights. All we did was party and suntan. We did go to a few Reggae clubs also. Lots of site seeing. It was just beautiful. Of course I was far from a young child I was 17 at the time.

Thinking about??

This will be another short post! I just don't have time, but I want to update. I hope everyone had a great weekend. Mine was wet, ugh!
2peas challenge:What handmade gifts are you thinking of giving this year? Well, I am going to attempt to do a photo collage for my parents and I'm also going to do a bunch of altered baby food jars for my sister which will contain lots of scrapbook embellies. I'm also doing an altered clock for my husband for his shop! I might also try to fit in a few fleece blankets, which everyone loves. I really haven't decided on much more than that right now.
Oh well I have to run now. So much to do and sooooo little time.

Sunday, November 12, 2006

I am giving myself 30 lashes! I've been a bad blogger. I just haven't had the time to even breath most of the time. Shoot.... Life happens, right? I am already feeling the wonderful pressure of Wrestling season and it basically starts tomorrow. Just trying to get everything in order is making me crazy this year. My son DJ just informed me that 75 boys signed up for the High School team! That is the largest amount of boys our school has had in probably over 25 years! The coaches are saying that is in part because of my Kid Wrestling program. I heard on Friday that the Middle School has about 65 boys on the team and that is also one of the largest in a very long time. I hope this year we will be one of the top teams in our League. The coaches seem to think that we will probably be in 2nd this year if not first! That really makes me happy. I've been busy getting all my letters ready for the parents and trying to figure out dates for my parents meeting and mom's night out!
On another note...... I have decided that I really would like to do a "ME" album. I really don't know what to do with it, but thought it would be nice. The other day my daughter Shannon said "Mom,,,, I just got a new hair iron! Can I iron your hair straight?" Now I really love my curls and pretty much never have my hair straight. Its really too curly and I can't do it. So I gave in and told her to do it. Ugh... I really did come out nice. So afterwards I decided to take a few self photos. Warning... I'm not very good at taking my own photo, lol

I'm thinking of using one of these in my "ME" album. Boy... I'm really getting old looking, lol. Oh.. well...
I've also been trying to catch up on some of my scrapbooking. I was able to finish up 3 layouts last night and hopefully I will take photos today and get them posted here tomorrow. I guess that is it for me right now. I hope everyone has a wonderful Sunday!

The Roof Above Me

2peas challenge for today:Let's talk about the place you live in, right now, tonite, this moment. What do you love about it? What do you hate about it? This is a very touchy subject with me. DH and I (along with 4 kids) moved into this house about 8 years out of pure desparate need for a home at the time. I hated this house the moment I laid eyes on it. Danny just loved it and the kids well.... couldn't wait to get out of it. It was known as the "Little Red House on the Block". This house was too small. Had only 1 bathroom (which it still has only 1 bathroom). No closets! NONE No storage space. The rooms are all soooo small. I didn't want to stay, but we really couldn't afford anything else. So we stayed. 2years ago the landlord asked if we would buy the house and she would hold the mortage. I did not want to buy this freakin house and Danny went behind my back and bought it by himself. ugh... so I am stuck in this house for 2 years more that I really didn't want to be. Since he bought the house, he has sided the front which I really like, and we re-did the living/dining rooms walls and floors. Everything is the same size.. Still don't like it...but its all I have right now.. Danny also built a huge a 2 car garage this summer. Looks wonderful.. (I think the garage is bigger than the whole house, lol) Here are some pics.

Boy It's Cold Outside

Baby, it's cold outside is what I think of when I just look out there and there is ice on the car windows. ugh..... Where did the fall season go to? I, certainly am not ready for winter. I just don't like that season anymore. It's always too cold for me not (now that I'm old and decrepit, lol). I'm going to have to start hitting the tanning salon early this year!
This weekend was somewhat productive for me. Finally got a couple of layouts done! The first one is of my son DJ doing what he seems to do best, lol! I couldn't wait to scrap these photos!

The next one is of my daughter Shannon and her bf Steven. You can tell they were having a great time out on the boat this summer. This layout was my first time using black and white photos! I think it came out ok.Oh well... I guess I better get myself moving here. It is late already. Have a great day everyone.

Busy Friday

Today will be another short post. I have so much going on today, my head is already spinning. Thanks everyon for the wonderful comments yesterday. I think my daughter is BEAUTIFUL also, and she did look cute in that costume, lol.
As usual, I have work at 8:30am-2:15pm. Then I have to rush home pick up DJ so he can get fitted for his new Knee brace (he had his entire knee redone in June,ACL,MCL, miniscus, ouch), that appointment is 3pm. Then come home get something together for dinner and then I'm going out with some of the wrestling moms! We really look forward to this night. We are going to Applebee's . It's fun and loud... like us :-)! Hopefully I will be able to update and take some good photos!
Well... I finally scanned the layout for the cj that I was working on.It is for the Whirled Peas CJ group. The theme for this cj is The Sound Track of Your Life. It was fun to do, but a little hard. There are so many songs that have meaning to my life. Its hard to break it down to 18. Now that I'm thinking about it... I may have already posted this like over the weekend. Ohhhh well.. here it is again for those he didnt get a peak.

Short and Sweet

Today I will have to be short and sweet. I have very little time this for anything. These are just a few photos of my dd and her boyfriend from Halloween.... I just don't know what she see's in him , lol (he is actually a great guy)

2peas challenge: Describe your Dream Date. To be honest with you .... I don't know if I could. I've been married for 24 years!lol... but if I could have a dream date, hmmmm I would like to go someplace fun. I don't like fancy, romantic restaurants too much. Give me excitement, and fun around every corner. I love to take a walk on the beach. Just spending time alone.

Happy Novemeber

Yesterday was just a beautiful day! I was so happy for the little ones that the wind gusts stop and it warmed up here to about 64! Just very pleasant. Even with the warm weather we had very few trick or treaters. Every year we get less. I think we had a total of about 30 or so kids. That is horrible especially in this neighborhood. I remember the blocks being full of kids with their parents waiting in the street. I think about 4 years ago is when it started to really slow here. And forget it... No treaters after 7:30pm. Ohhh.. did I mention that I have a whole Tupperware "Thats a Bowl" full of candy still. I told my dh that I don't know if I want to even be home next year. I know that is sad, and I'm sure I will be here, but it just seems like a lot of work for nothing anymore.
I was able to take some photos of my daughter and her boyfriends handy work decorations outside. Some of them are really dark. This is the scary clown that was greeting our treaters last night as you walked up to the porch.

The next 2 are of the front yard-grave yard.
Here is a little surprise when you get up to the door, lolBelieve it or not that is all the photos that blogger will let me load right now, so tomorrow I will try to post more. I have some good ones of my dd in her costume. Too cute. (ok she is 20, she just still wants to have fun)

The Halloween Party

My Sister-in-Law has a Halloween Party just about every year for the all the kids. Even though all my kids are big they still have to go! lol (sil has no children) and now we have the great neices and nephews that go usually. Yesterday was another HIGH WINDS day. Most of the day the winds were about 25-30 mph with gusts over 50mph. But the party still went on. They had sack races, they had to make characters with play-doh to win points for prizes (she comes up with the craziest things sometimes) then they all carved pumpkins! yeah, I have to say .. Most of the pumpkins came out awesome! Then the food arrived. She had hot wings, mac and cheese and pizzas! What was going to be a short party ended up being around 5 hrs or so. The kids all had fun and that is what matters most.
My daughter, Shannon, took pics but left the camera so later on I will get it and load the pics and update here. As usual my great nephew Brandon (4) was soooo funny. Can't wait to show the pictures of him dancing. He is so adorable when he does his dancing I just want to eat him up. He does the head bob and moves his feet and then his whole body does this little bounce. Too cute.
Since it is 3:30 am here I am going to try to get back to sleep. I woke up dying of thirst (I think I ate something too salty) and couldn't get back to sleep right away. Figured since I've started that new job I never have the time to post lately I would just do it now. In the morning I will try to update with some of the Party pictures.

Its a Blisterer Saturday!

The weather men were right for a change, ugh! It started to rain last night about 7pm and really hasn't stopped. It is not a steady down pour (thank goodness), but the winds are unbelievable! Most of my daughters "spooky" decorations are down! I can't believe we didn't take pictures yet. booo whooo. The winds are gusting up to 50mph! It's not very nice out. I was going to go for my walk this morning since it really isn't raining too bad, but the freakin' winds are terrible and I think it would be impossible to walk in. So on to my next plan.
I really need to do my journaling for about 10 layouts that are still waiting for me down stairs. Plus, I really need to finish a Circle Journal for "Whirled Peas". Its a cute journal and really the only thing that needs to be done is my journaling. I've gotten very lazy with the journaling lately. I usually have that done right away. Sometimes I wonder why I take so long to do something. Is it because I don't like it? Possibly. Is it because I really don't want to finish it, if I don't finish it and put it away I won't look at it as much. This are the little things that rac my brain. Anyway today they will hopefully all be done!

Well blogger has finally let me post these photos. Unbelievable. This is DJ (17) and well.. as posted yesterday, he is trying to get down to 135 lbs for wrestling this year. I don't know if that is going to happen, but he is already down to 145.Here is Joseph (15), and as you can see... he needs to gain weight to wrestle.lol... The absolute lowest weight for High School Wrestling is 96 lbs and he weighs 100 with all his clothes on. Plus, they haven't even started really training. I'm not sure he is going to make this year again. Last year the coach stepped on the scale with his toe just so he made it. lol This kid eats, and eats and eats, I wish I had his metabolism I would be a stick!
2peas challenge for today:What are you fixing for Thanksgiving? re food: Well it is just me, hubby, and the kids. No one else is ever here anymore because they all live in Las Vegas. My dh's sister always goes to her one of her friends for the last 9 years and we haven't talked to his brother in about 7 years. So whats for dinner? Well of course we have Turkey, Stuffing, Potatoes (mashed and sweet), gravy, broccoli, asparagus, corn, cranberry sauce, of course there is apple cider, biscuits and dinner rolls. When everyone was here I would also do Italian foods.. Lasagna, meatballs, sausage, chicken cutlets, garlic bread. But I don't anymore. Then there is the desserts: we have chesse cake (I make from my grandmothers receipe), chocolate cream pie, and a walnut cake. I would make pumpkin pie, but no here likes it.That is pretty much it. My dd is already hounding me to make walnut cake it is one of her fav's. Thats it for me! Have a great Saturday!

The day after

If you were here yesterday you would know that I went for my Remicaid infusion last night. It is a 3 1/2-4 hour infusion normally. Last night we had a few complications in the room which made this time longer. I was the last one done (figures) and was finally out of the office at 8:45! My friend Jessica kept blowing her veins so they had to keep trying. And there were 3 of us that needed to be pre-medicated. ugh... I'm one of them. I know it sounds weird, but I actually enjoy going. I don't know if its for the social asspects or the medicine part, lol. We do normally have a lot of fun just sitting there and talking, sharing our lives. Its really very wonderful. Jessica and I have been going together for the last 1 1/2 years. We are both on a 4 wk cycle. Most people are on a 8 wk cycle. You get to meet new people and then there are the ones that you get to see every other month and you get to catch up with whats been going for the last 2 months.
Now the dr's office is a good 45 min drive and I was already late with my infusion so I raced home so I wouldn't miss much of Grey's. How disappointing!!!! to get home and find out that it was a repeat! They have some nerve. Not only was the 9pm airing a repeat, but so was the 10pm airing! How rude. Then more disappointment. CBS decided to air a repeat of Shark! I couldn't believe that I raced home (btw.. took me like 30 mins to get here, lol) for nothing! Outraged.
My plans for today are: work.... come home and relax a little (hopefully), I am hoping I have energy after the infusions I don't for a day or so. Then I really need to clean this house, but we are suppose to get huge rain storms all afternoon thru the night. I also really, really need to get my nails done. Its been 3 wks and they just look and feel horrible! So that is a must before 4pm when they get flooded. Then to decide whats for dinner. DJ is killing me because everytime I turn around he is looking in the frig for something. Wrestling hasn't even started and he is driving me nuts. Thank go the little one doesn't have to worry about his weight and eating. He is underweight and needs to eat right before getting on the scale. lol ( I was going to post photos, but blogger is being a pain this morning and won't let me)
Since it is going to be raining out tonight and they say tomorrow. I am planning on getting all my journaling done that I just haven't time to do. I will also be taking photos/or scanning them so I can finally post something. I think I have like 10 layouts down there waiting for me plus the circle journal that I really want to get in the mail tomorrow.
2peas challenge:Describe your gift wraping style regarding Holiday presents. Anything special or unique? Believe it or not I'm not a big fan of wraping presents. Especially for little kids! I just put the paper on and a little bow and that is it. They don't care. They just want whats inside. For adult gifts (except my DH, he is just like the kids) I will usually do something special. I do like to add lots of ribbon. Maybe flowers for my mom and sisters. Thats really it for me.

No Time

Today is going to be a short entry as I hardly have time to breath today. AS for yesterday, it was just crazy. I did everything that was posted and when I got home from the 2 classes I was just pooped! I crashed out by 9:40! Pretty much slept right through the night, boy did I need that!
Today is another whirl wind day. I'm getting ready for work (have to be there by 8:30am) get done at 2:15pm. I'll race to the grocery store, because I won't have time or the energy to go later on tonight. Then jump in for a shower (yucky, cafeteria food is sure to be all over me, lol), then off to get my infusion for 4 1/2 hours. It takes 40 mins to drive to the doctors office, 4 1/2 hour infusion, then the 40 min drive home. I should get home by 8:40pm tonight. Again... pooped. That is it for me today. Hope everyone has a WONDERFUL day!

Sleepless on Long Island

It is 5:27am est. What the heck am I doing up? Well for starters I woke up about 2 hours ago! Why?, you may ask. Ummmmm.. I think I heard my dog,Lacey, licking her foot and thought something was wrong and then couldn't fall back to sleep. Maybe its because I just have soooo much to do today my brain won't let me sleep. I'm not sure but I would love to sleep and now I'm afraid to go to bed and not be able to wake up in 1 hr from now. This is crazy! I just hope that I can get through the rest of my day with only 3 hrs sleep.
Today my day will start off by getting Joseph up for school at 6:30am, because at 15 he still can't manage to wake up by the alarm clock!ugh... then I will have to get dressed right away and be at the High School for slicer training class by 7am. From there, I will head over to my Elementary School to start my day of work by 8:30am! Ok... today would be Taco Wednesday! One of the messiest lunches in the world. This is a horrible lunch day. A lot of heavy lifting that I really am not used to yet. At about 2:15pm my day in the lunch room will end! thank goodness. Then its home for a little r&r... but not much.
By 3:30pm the boys will call me to come pick them up from weight training. Then I will need to start dinner. DJ is on a very strict diet right now. Dropping weight already for wrestling season which starts in about 2 weeks. He is doing everything right this year, which makes me very happy. He is doing high protein and little carbs. Eating 6 small meals a day. He is right on target. He really has only 8 pounds to lose before weight certification which is in about 4 weeks and then over the course of another 4 weeks he will drop 5 more lbs. Well try to. He is usually pretty good at it. By 4:30pm I will have to have dinner in the oven. Porkchops, fried rice and veggies tonight. Then at 6pm I'm off to my 2 classes. 1hr of weight training and the 1 hr of body sculpting. hmmm I don't think either are really working but this is only week 4 today. I will get home at about 9:15pm and then I think I will actually crash!
With this new job, I just feel like I never have any time to do what I'm used to doing. I hate it that I can't go for my walks in the morning anymore and I never have any time to scrapbook or just sit here and take time to write on my blog. I just don't know how most of you do it. I've been home for the last year, not working and I guess I just got into a routine. Now I need to start a new routine. We will see what next week brings me. I like my job, but I also need to take care of me. I will have to see if my RA can handle it. I will tell you that yesterday was a killer. I do go for my treatment on Thursday and hopefully that will help. My last treatment only lasted 3 weeks. Hoping this month it will last the full 4 weeks. Nothing else too exciting is going on here. It is very cold here lately. I don't like the cold! Its been about 40 in the mornings and this morning (right now) it is only 37! Freakin' 37!!! What the heck. I told my husband I don't know how much longer I can do these damn cold winters. I just need warmth!
Ok... I'm getting off here to attempt to do some situps and stretches this morning since I can't walk(tooo cold). I have to do something or I'll just blow up! Hope everyone has a terrific day!

MIA

I've been MISSING IN ACTION for the last few days. I just haven't had the time to do much of anything. This new job is very hectic and it seems that after I'm done working during the day that I just don't have any energy left to even get on here. Its hard to just sit here for 10 mins in the morning and try to get everything on here. Like right now! It's 6:50am trying to get the boys ready for school and get out of this house in 15 mins. IMPOSSIBLE!
On a little brighter note I did manage to get some scrapbooking done over the weekend. yeah,,, finally. Hopefully one day this week I will be able to either scan or take photos and post them.I also worked on a CJ album that needs to go out by next Tuesday and it is almost done. Just need to print out my journaling.
Its starting to get pretty cold here, especially the evenings and early mornings and with the new job I really haven't been able to do my walks. Just not enough time in the AM for it and I don't have the energy at 5pm to do. I don't know if I'm going to be staying at this job for too long.... It is just a little too physcially demanding on me and with my RA flairing up its not a good combo!
I hope everyone is doing fine out there in blog land and on 2 peas! I really have to catch up on everyones blog. I think that will be something to do tonight.

Hump Day

Yesterday I just couldn't get myself together. I went to work (new job) and it is longer hours and a little confusing. I am the new cook, lol. I really didn't want to be a cook, but I will try it out and see what happens. I am also not sure about the hours, I have severe rheumothyoid arthritis and if it gets worse with all these hours then I might not be able to keep working them. I am trying it out and we will see what happens.
It rained here pretty much the entire day yesterday and boy it was cold also. Maybe that is why I just couldn't get it together. Who knows. Today, it is suppose to be warmer and not rain. I'm keeping my fingers crossed.
2peas challenge for today:Blog about the things about the Holidays you are looking forward to....... no matter what they are: Well, with the holidays so near I look forward to spending some time with my family. I am trying to get back to Las Vegas next month so that I can spend some time with my parents, sisters, and my son. I just love being there.... and can't wait to get back there. As for here.... Its spending time with my dh and the kids and of course decorating the house for christmas and I love to cook so there's that.
Oops.. got to get my butt moving here.. didn't realize how late it was.... Have a great day everyone.

What in the World

Ok.... it is 3:30am and I can't sleep! What in the World am I doing up? I have no clue. I have not been sleeping good lately. Not sure exactly why. At first I thought it was just from allergies, but that has seemed to cleared up a little. I just can't get comfortable enough to sleep through the night. I didn't even fall asleep until 12:30 and then I was wide awake by 2am. I can feel it.... I'm going to crash and burn soon if I don't start sleeping through the night in the next few days. I'm getting very irritable also.
Saturday was my DH's birthday. Being that we were not talking, no one, not even the kids, knew that he was leaving the house at 2pm and not coming home! The kids had planned a little B'Day party for him and sat here waiting for him. They tried calling him, but he didn't even answer his phone. Finally, Joseph called him at like 7pm and he picked up the phone. Told Joseph that he was out in Montauk fishing and was not coming home until after midnight! What nerve! So.. last night we ended up having cake (which we, the kids and I were dying for, lol). It ended up being a nice day. I guess that is what counts.
As I've mentioned in previous posts... I started working in the schools here in the lunchrooms. They offered me a permanent postion in one of the Elementary Schools to be the cook. This will be from 8:30am-2:15pm. I accepted and start today! I hope I will be able to do this physically. They know that I have medical problems and just said, "If you feel you can not do it just tell us and we will put you back on subing". That made me feel pretty good. I have to say that with these new hours of working I now have to change my walking from the mornings to the afternoons (not sure that is going to work out so well). And it is not leaving me enough time to do squeeze in my scrapbooking! That is a little disappointing. I still need to finish up a circle journal. I still have 13 days, but I really wanted done buy this weekend and that didn't happen. Hopefully, I will have it done by this Saturday and out in the mail early.
2peas challenge: What gets you through Mondays? I have to tell you.. not much lately!lol. I think I just muddle through my Mondays. We will see how I do today especially with a new job position.

NO TIME

It just seems like for the last few days I hardly have time to even breathe! I'm always running around like a headless chicken. Today is going to be some of the same. Squeezing in my 2 1/2 mile walk and then racing home to shower to race some more to work. I'm not sure I really like this 9am shift. I might have to reconsider this.
Last night was my 2 ... 1 hr classes. I'm taking a weight resistence class and a body sculpting class. OMG! I might not be able to move in 2 days. They both were tough last night. Lots of leg work. I just keep saying to myself... NO PAIN.. NO GAIN!
Yesterday when I got up it looked like rain. It got more gray and almost black out by 9 am... At about that time I started to get a severe headache! It just wouldn't go away. I thought I would cut off my head that is how bad it was getting. I came home from work at 1:45pm and just laid down thinking that would help. But no. I really thing it was because of the pressure in the air. When it did start to rainout it was about 5:30pm and my headache started to go away. How insane is that?
Oh well... I'm looking foward to Greys Anatomy tonight and I'm pretty pissed off that Fox has the baseball on. I haven't seen House in 2 weeks now! Hope everyone has a wonderful day.

Travel

2peas challenge for today: What in your life do you wish you would have done that you haven't yet?
Well I know that I would love to do a road trip to everystate in the US (of course I would have to fly to Hawaii). I think that would be very exciting. And I would love to travel to Italy. I really love to travel. My husband does not and that is why I hardly ever leave Long Island. The only time I do leave is if I'm going to visit my family (Las Vegas) or my best friend (N. Carolina). Oh.. did I mention... he does not go!
Ok... thats it for now.. I have a very hectic morning here. I got called last night to fill in for someone at the Middle School. So I have to be at the school by 9am. I have to fit in my 2 1/2 mile walk before that, and of course shower.lol. I'll try to get back here an update more later. Have a Great day!

2peas challenge

2peas challenge for today: What is your style of Christmas decoration? I honestly don't think what I do has a name, lol. It is a Style all of its own. We have some traditional, and some new but it is mostly stuff that my kids made for me growing up. I will always put that stuff out. I just love everything from Kindergarten stuff all the way up to I guess 8th grade stuff. I have tons of stuff that they've made me. If anyone has a name for that let me know.

Monday, October 09, 2006

It's Columbus Day! It is also my sister-in-laws B'Day! We are probably going to get together later on today for some cake and presents. My kids are home from school today and I have no work today. yeah! DH has a bug up his butt for the last 2 days so I'm staying far away from him. This is his time of the month. lol Just love those 5-6 days with him!
Other news..... I was invited to a crop that a lady holds at her home every couple months. I had posted a while back on 2peas that I was looking for something local and she wrote and said that she would let me know when the next one was. It was on Saturday and we had a very good time. I have to tell you that I didn't get much done.. 2 layouts. ugh! But I got to meet some great people and really got some good ideas from what they were doing.
Well.. I have to tell you that DH and I went to see the movie "The Departed" Friday night. All I can say is "OMG" it was terrific! I don't want to give anything away... you just have to go see it for yourself. Jack Nicholson was terrific, Leo was just so Amazing and ohhh so cute, Matt was awesome! You couldn't turn away because you might miss something. Just a GREAT movie.
2peas Challenge for today: If you could ask for only 3 things for Christmas what would they be? Lets see... hmmmmm.... I really want an ipod or some other mp3 player (just because I'm tired of holding a walkman while I'm walking everyday), new luggage (all my luggage is garbage), gift card to a scrap store.

Its a Cold one

Here it is Friday and I have to say that I got up and it is pretty darn cold out there this morning. It is about 51 degrees and very windy. I do not like the cold weather and hate it even more if it rains or snows. It is also supposed to rain later on today, which kind of explains why I could not sleep well last night. I might have to double up on some meds for today. It is not going to warm up really either the weather people are saying. Our high today is only getting up to 56!
My plans for today are to go and attempt (I say attempt, because it is so cold and windy) to do my 2 1/2 mile walk this morning around 7am. Then come home... check out some blogs, eat breakfast. Of course shower, get dressed and go to work until 2pm. My husband and I are going to go to an early movie. I've been waiting for today for so long. I want to see "The Departed"! It stars Jack Nicholson, Leonardo DiCaprio, Matt Damon, And Mark Wahlberg! I hope it is going to be as good as it looks to be. And then we will probably grab a little dinner. I really don't like to eat dinner after 6pm but this time I will. I can't wait to tell you all about the movie!
For this weekend, the only thing I was going to do was a crop in the neighborhood. Not sure I will still be going. I really have to decide today though. And then I just want to finish some layouts that I need to journal on that I did last weekend at the all night crop. That is really it for me this weekend. I hope everyone has a great weekend.

Working out!

Last night was my first classes for the Body Sculpting and Resistance Training. OMG I know that by tonight I'm going to be feeling it! I was happy that my friend actually showed up (she is the one who was... my walking partner and stopped all together back in the beginning of July). Both classes are only 1 hr each and once a week, so this should not be difficult. It has been some time though since I've worked with weights and done some of these exercises. I am hoping to complete my weight lose doing this. I've been stuck at the same weight not for almost 3 yrs! This sucks... and it doesn't help much when your doctor tells you that with your medical conditions... you probably won't lose anymore. I'm working my butt to try to get this fat off me. Ok..I've slipped the last few weeks with the eating habits. But I'm walking 2-2 1/2 miles everyday! I think my body has just gotten used to this workout so now I'm going to pump it up a little.
Other news..... We got those storms that were making their way east late last night. Some lightning and thunder, some downpours and drizzle, but I have to admit....... its the winds! It is still windy as heck out there. They said up to gusts of 5o mph! And it looks like it.
I was also invited to neighborhood crop for this Saturday. Not sure if I'm going to go. I really want to go, but I feel bad since I went to the Unslumber crop last Saturday night 6pm-6am. and my dh was all by himself. We will see though, this one is only for 4 hrs and its in the afternoon. I know I still need to post my layouts from last weekend. I promise to get to that hopefully by tomorrow.
2peas challenge: What is your fav. halloween candy? I really don't have a favorite halloween candy, but my all time favorite candy is M&M's Plain!

Mother Nature

How funny that todays 2peas challenge is: What is the last thing you created? This is exactly what I was going to talk about today!
Now I have to tell you that this is my very first Circle Journal. I had no clue really what to do. I did however browse through the pea gallery for ideas. I love pretty much everything outdoors (except the fall clean up,lol). So I decided to do an album all about Mother Nature. I hope when I get it back in 9 months that it is full of beautiful and wonderful photos of mother nature. This

This is the album cover. I really didn't have a clue what to do... Next cj I do I think will be better. These are my sign in cards. I asked each lady to please decorate and embellish any way they wanted and to please add a photo on the back. Of course I made 10..all different colors. This is my intro/instruction page. I was going with a natural theme...
this is one of my fav pic's! The quote on the bottom says " Nature can survive without man, but man alone can not survive without nature". I know they are all ocean pic's but I just love them. And this one is a little out of the box for me.. I've never used ribbon before. I like how it turned out. If you have time ... let me know how my very 1st circle journal came out.
Have a Wonderful Wednesday!

Shadow boxes

Here it is Tuesday and I can't believe that I am able to get on here this early today. Yesterday was ohhhh fun filled. My friend Lynn came over with her 4 year old (who btw, is a typical 4 yr old. can't sit still for even a min.) anyway, my friend call yesterday and asked me if I would help her put together a shadowbox. This would include items from the 4yr olds dance recital. I say ok, come on over. Now I need to tell you she came over with a ton of stuff. I go through it and we decide what will fit and what won't. I (yes me alone) puts the entire box together. Also, I am constantly intereputed by the 4 yr old who wants somethng to eat, drink, play with..you get the pic. It ended up taking me 2 hrs! because I had to keep stopping just when I was on a roll. It did however come out very cute.
Now I should also tell you that this is my first time doing a shadow box! I think it came out pretty good. Sorry the pictures are not any better.
So after all that I now had to go to my great-nephews b'day party ..... can we all say more 4 yr olds! Plus my 10 month great -neice was attached to me yesterday which is always fun. My neice rented one of those bouncy houses for the kids...after a while I kicked the big boys out and put the 10 month old in... well she didn't want to get out! She was having a BLAST!
2peas challenge: Talk about your fav TV show. ===Mine is HOUSE! My sister got me addicted to it in April and now I have to watch! I'm so mad because I missed last week. But I will be watching tonight at 8pm!
Hope everyone has a Terrific Tuesday!

A Wonderful Monday

Good Morning, I am feeling great today! This is a wonderful day. I woke up a this morning feeling a little stiff, but got dressed and went down to the track and did my 2 mile walk. I felt pretty good afterwards. Hopefully I will continue to feel good.
Ok.... Saturday night I went to an Unslumber crop! It was held at a lls and was from 6pm-6am. It was great. I didn't get as much done as I really wanted to, but I did manage to get 5 layouts completed and started on 1 more. It seemed to take me forever to get motivated. I hate when that happens. ugh.... I have not taken any photos of my layouts yet. Hopefully today I will be able to get around to that and then post them.
My to do list today is pretty high. I have to do laundry, sweep the floors, clean off the diningroom table (this is my catch all) clean the blinds in this house (they are disgusting!) take the boys to the dr., take hubby to the dr to have his stitches looked at.. forgot to tell you that he cut his hand open while I was at the crop and had to go to the er for 7 stitches! He didn't even call me to meet him there. And then decided what to make for dinner. Thats it for here.
2peas challenge: List 10 things that you are thankful for in no particular order
1. My life... Had 2 heartattacks at the age of 28 and was pronounced dead at 30 from going into Thyroid Storm and everything shutting down
2. My family are very helpful and supportive
3. My house (even though I really don't like it)
4. That I have food on the table
5. My health
6. My vehicles
7. My job
8. My ability to try to help others when in need
9. My friends who help me all the time
10. A very caring, loving, supportive husband.

Its Friday

It is a very gloomy day here on Long Island today. Light rain since the weeee hours this morning and cold out..well cold for us right now. I really don't feel like doing much when the weather is like this. ugh..I just want to curl up in my nice heated bed and pull the blankets over my head!
Ok... I went for my infusion last night. Very good to be back there with my wonderful nurses and friends. Some of the people go every 4 wks.(like me),some go 6 wks, and some go 8 wks. So eventually we end up seeing each other at least a few times a year. When I got there one of the nurses came right out and said "Lynn we have to pre-med you" I was like why??? I never got pre-med before. Well my doctor ordered it because he doesn't want me to get any infections and because I was on this for so long before I had to stop for 6 months it can cause infection when re-started. I was like ok if thats what he says. Well pre-med takes an extra 45min-hr to get done and it is done before my remicaid. I felt bad for my friend who I drive because that means she stuck there for extra time. It did end up ok though.. they started my pre-med about 30 mins before they started her remicaid. Then I find out the doctor ordered for all my infusions!ugh!!! It ended up being a very talkative group.. The nurses (Mary and Doreen) said that was because I was there, lol. They said that when I was gone... no one talked! ugh.. how do you do that for 4 hrs! I just can't!Hopefully this treatment will kick in really nice and fast so I can be semi- pain free. My next appt is Oct. 26th.
Other news... I'm supposed to go to a slumber crop tonight. It is from 6pm-6am. I don't know if I will be able to attend. I will see how I feel later on. I was also invited to a crop in my area for tonight..I just might go to that one. We will see.
Ok.. I've got to go... Hope everyone has a Wonderful day and great weekend!

Todays the Day!

Today is the day that I get to start (re-start) my Remicaid treatments. This is going to be a high anxiety day. I've been praying that I would be able to start getting my infusions for 5 months now! It has been a very painful 5 months also. I hope that my body will respond quickly to the treatment. This is like my last hope for now. I will update you all tomorrow on how it went and maybe I will take a few photos to share my 4 hours of killed time.
This is an old motorcycle and side car. My husband and I love theseDanny standing in front of a beautiful old war plane. This plane is all chromed out. Has a wonderful picture of a beautiful woman on the front. (see below)Sorry,, I know that it is hard to see the picture but it is so Beautiful! I loved this plane. I think it was my favorite at the show.
2peas challenge for today: Complete this sentence: I have numerous passions in my life. They are___________,________________ and ________. (elaborate if you wish).
My passions in my life are my family. They are wonderful, loving, annoying at times, supportive, creative, funny and just keep me on my toes all the time. I am also very passionate about wrestling. Not that crap that is on TV (that is just garbage). I mean Olympic wrestling, greco-roman wrestling, freestyle wrestling and scholastic (folkstyle) wrestling. I just love it! It is something that my kids have been doing since they pretty much could walk. I also love scrapbooking, this is a time for me. It is peaceful in my room where I can hopefully be creative for me. It gives me joy.
Wishing everyone a TERRIFIC day!

Middle of the Week

Yes, it is Wednesday again and boy it still seems like I have done nothing all week. I don't know what it is lately. Could this be a sign of depression???? I don't think I'm depressed. I just don't feel like my normal self. Maybe its the weather changes. Maybe I'm just tired. I'm not sure what it is but I need to snap out of it really soon. Wrestling season will be starting in about 5 weeks and I'm not even prepared! This is not like me. I usually have everything all printed out, everything organized. Lists ready. I'm behind. Need to catch up.
Now this is not the only thing I'm behind in. I need to complete my CJ that needs to be mailed out by Saturday. I'm almost done... but it's still not all together. Just another thing on my mind that is not finished. I really haven't spent a whole lot of time cleaning this house either. It might start walking on its own soon. lol.
I did however order all my photos the other night. Can we sale awesome price!!! I them done for 1 cent each plus shipping. I did 205 prints and it cost me $9.80 including the shipping! Can't beat that. I'm actually going to go on this site again and see if my coupon will work again to order about another 300 prints that I should just get done especially at that price! Can't beat it! If you are interested in the site and coupon code let me know....

This is a marine helicopter that actually goes on missions. Stand next to this thing you won't believe how huge it is. It can carry 19 people, has machine guns on the side. Pretty awesome to look at.Here are 4 planes putting on an air show. Incredible how close they are to each other.
Tomorrow I will try to load some more pictures of dh at the airshow. Blogger is being picky today.
2peas challenge: What are you in the middle of lately? Well... pretty much everything. I'm in the middle of cleaning. In the middle of doing my cj. And in the middle of trying to get my wrestling stuff organized for the up coming season.
Hope everyone has a wonderful day.

Its going to be one of those weeks.... I see it now. Yesterday just seems to be a blur, and not sure what the rest of the week has in store for me. I do know that on Thursday I am going to be getting my Remicaid infusion for the first time in six months (due to insurance problems). I am actually looking forward to this. I'm supposed to get it every 4 weeks. It will be like starting over. ugh....
The new part-time job is going pretty well. I am just substituting for now with hopes of a permanent postition in one of the schools. This is fine with me. I just needed to get out of this house for a few hours a week. (remember dh is home 24/7??) Right now I'm working 3 1/2 hrs a day. Perfect.

Remember 2 weekend's ago Hubby and I went to the air show??? Blogger wouldn't let me upload the pics. but today they have. So here are just a couple of photos.Me and hubby on the shuttle ride to the airshow! (I look horrible, lol)Hubby sitting in an actual glider. The other guy is an instructor for gliders,(which my husband is thinking about doing)Hubby sitting comfortably in the glider. When the hatch is closed and you are not in the air gliding.. it gets very hot in there.
Hoping tomorrow I will be able to post more photos.
Hope everyone has a Wonderful day!

Where did the weekend go?

Here it is Monday and I'm still not sure where the weekend went! I do know that all day Saturday I was in pain so I pretty much laid in bed the whole entire day! The only time I got up was to run to the bathroom or to get a drink of water. It was a pretty sad day. I just couldn't move my body.
Then Sunday rolled around the corner and well even though I was still in some pain.... I had stuff that needed to be done. Like freakin' 7 loads of laundry! Those boys.. I swear. Plus, I needed to sweep/vacuum the floors and clean them. (those babies haven't been done in 5 days. ugh). Clean up the kitchen... You get the idea. Everything I neglected to do during the week. By 7pm last night I was exhausted. I plopped my body down on the couch and ended up watching The Green Mile. boy I hate it when the weekend flies by in a blink of an eye.
2peas challenge for today: What are some of your favorite candle scents? I just love cinnamon & apple... but I have found a few times this Mango scent.. Awesome. I also have a really good black cherry candle that is really nice.

How Did I Meet My Hubby?

2peas challenge for today: Blog about how you met your significant other. I was 18yrs old and my parents just uprooted the whole family from West Palm Beach, FL to freakin' Long Island. I did not know anyone in the area except some cousins that lived 3 towns away. I immediately went to seek a job. I noticed that a local Donut place was looking for help on the grave yard shift which I had no problem doing. My very first night there some guy (not my husband, but his close friend)comes up with a motorcycle and is trying to bring the darn thing into the building. I politely tell him NO WAY! This guy leaves and I don't really think about him again until he comes back with 2 friends at 4:30am! They were out at the bars and were coming in for breakfast. Now I'm thinking what is this guy doing. I go around and start asking what I could get them. The first guy says breakfast special and coffee. The next guy says the same thing. Now I walk over to my husband and before I say a thing he grabs my hand and starts kissing it and going up arm! I was like excuse me,,, but that is my arm and could you let go please. Hearing my very southern accent he just looked up at me and said, "I'm going to marry you!" Just like that. I don't even know the guy! I was like " I don't think so" He kept hitting on me and then he became a stalker.lol... I finally broke down after 2 months of him hounding me, following me, and sleeping out in the parking lot just to make sure nothihng happened to me. We've been married for 23 1/2 years! Sure good times and bad... but I will always remember that first night for the rest of my life.
Thanks for the challenge... I really should do a layout all about that this way it can continue to be cherished.

What a CRAZY Day!

Yesterday was one of those CRAZY, hectic days in my life. It started out like normal. Get up at 6am... get Joseph up for school... get the boys out for school (I really don't have to do anything since they are 17 &15) I just want to make sure they go, lol. Then at 7am I finally get dressed, take my med's, and get into the car and drive down to the Middle School track and I proceed to stretch out and then do my 2 mile walk and then of course I really stretch out after that. I then drive back home and I had a phone call to see if I could work. I call them back and say yes (that was stupid, but I need the money).
So I jump in the shower, get dressed and now I'm off to the doctors office. He called me Monday afternoon and needed to see me. Now that doesn't sound good, but in my head I already know it is about my bloodwork from a few days before. I get there and then about 40 mins later I get to be seen. He is always sooo busy. Well.. I was right.... my cholestrol was high again. He doesn't like it. Now I do have to mention that the bad cholestrol is 175 (yes I know that is bad), but my good cholestrol is pretty high also (75). Apparently, that is offsetting the bad and it brings me down to an average cholestrol level. But of course he doesn't like it. Now he wants me to exercise more! I'm like holy crap, I'm already walking 2 miles plus I watch what I eat. I rarely eat red meat anymore, I try to stay away from junk food (it is hard sometimes), but I'm doing as much as possible. Ok.. maybe I should try a little harder with the ice cream. He can't, or should I say won't, put me on any meds for the cholestrol due to the fact that I'm already on so many meds. So we are going to watch it.
I leave his office and head on over to work. I got hired as a temp. p/t for the schools. This is perfect for me. I just wanted to get out of my house for a few hours a day (if possible). Remember DH is home 24/7! So they asked me if I could be there everyday at 10:30am-2:15 until the end of October. I said sure. It is really cute being with all those little kids again. I forgot how funny they are and the stuff that comes out of their mouths is priceless.
After work, I have to head over to the Rheumotologist! They have to do a tuberculosis test on me so I can get my infusions again. Like I said it was a very hectic day.
By the way,,, still having problems with blogger, if you haven't noticed. Everything is all messed up on here. Still hoping they fix it. I also still can't post any photos. This really stinks!
2peas challenge for today: If you could change 1 thing in our world today what would it be? Be silly or serious, its up to you.
This is a touchy subject for me.... I would have to say ANY type of abuse. This could be spousal, child or elderly abuse. There is not a person in the world that has a right to hit or abuse in any way another person. This has gotten complete out of hand and most of these people who are doing the abusing are just getting a slap on the hand. There need to be tougher laws and law officials need to act accordingly. They just can't sit there and let it happen. They don't like to respond to a spousal disruption call. But they need to. Too many people (mostly women and children) are dying at the hands of their abuser because law officials don't want to get involved. This needs to be STOPPED!
