Happy New Year

Wishing you all a very Happy New Year! Sorry that I have not been feeling up to getting on here lately. There has just been so much going on and I've been exhausted and physically drained lately. Hopefully, with the new year approaching, things will get better.

I hope everyone who celebrates Christmas had a wonderful one! Mine was ok. I must say.... I'm glad it's over. I have be come the complaint department. Just letting you know that this year my response is "I don't care". That really gets them.

D.J. and Joseph got the Wii this year.

I bought the extra remote and nunchuck for it so they didn't have to fight over it. I also got D.J. the Tiger Woods PGA Tour 07 game for it and some other golf game that he was asking for. I got Joseph the Boxing game. Joseph also got a video rocker chair,

and Guitar Hero III for PS2 which would've been great if the guitar was not cracked and ohh yeah... his PS2 didn't decided to conk out Christmas morning! Yeah, welcome to my hell! All he did was complain all morning and all day. Thank goodness for the 80gb Zune he got because if that didn't work I was killing myself just to not hear him anymore. D.J. got a ton of DVD's that he asked for and CD that he really wanted replace that was lost. He also got a ton of clothes! he has outgrown everything since September! Basically, all his t-shirts and sweatshirts. It's rough having a 44 inch chest and almost 17 inch arms. They don't fit into M's any more.

I think the best was Lacey! She had a blast this year. She was so funny opening up her presents and everyone elses for that matter.

She's like having a 2 year old around. Non-stop energy. I think I took more photos of her than the boys. She is a lot cuter.

Besides all the Joseph drama, everything else was pretty good.

Now.... for the inquiring minds that want to know what Ribbons are..... Ribbon's are I guess another name for BowTies according to my friend Linda. I made a batch of "Ribbon's" for Linda's house since she invited us over last Sunday and she kept saying these are the best "Bowties" I've had in years. Now I have to say.. I did take photos of them, but of course dh deleted them from the camera before I could upload them to the computer. So I will have to make another batch either today or tomorrow (because we ate the double batch I made last week) and get the photos up here. I will also post the receipe. Very easy to make and very addicting!

Well, that's it for my update. I wish you all a very Happy New Year!

Finally!

Yes, I'm still here. I've just been so tired and so busy lately that I just don't know whether I'm coming or going, and when I'm not coming or going, I'm sleeping! Things have just been very hectic. I just seem to be running all the time. I also feel very run down lately. I think I need to go for a tan to rejuvenate. Last year I tanned almost every day and I felt pretty good most of the time. So far this season I think I've tanned 2-3 times. Not good.

Lets see, I really don't have much to report. Wrestling is going strong right now. We had a meet on Wednesday (did very well) and then Saturday an all day tournament (did very well). The tournaments are killing me though. Sitting on the floor of a cold, smelly gym for over 12 hours is just insane. I think I'm crazy!, but I just love it and the boys love it that I'm there (I think anyway). I took 255 pictures on Saturday! The boys really look forward to seeing their pictures, especially on the website that I started last year.

Other than that, It has just been very cold and windy here. We did get 2 ice storms, nothing like snow here. Just been busy and hardly on this computer except to upload photos and edit them. Hopefully next week will be a little less hectic.

2 peas challenge today: What is one thing you look forward to during these last few days before Christmas?
I look forward to spending some time with great friends and family. I can't forget the baking of cookies and ribbons in my house. My family has already eaten a full batch of ribbons that I made on Friday night! I think I'm going to have a triple batch this week.

No Time

NO time! Lately that is how I've been feeling. Going from dr's to school and then everything else in between has just run me ragged the last week. I have had no time to get on here at all to update or to even check out all my wonderful friends blogs, sorry guys. I'm hoping for a little down time on Sunday so I can catch up with everyone.

I don't know if I mention that ds Joseph was wonderfully expelled from school last Thursday for 5 days! He had a pack of cigarettes on him but the kids that he was hanging with outside the building had drug paraphenial basically a pipe. All 3 expelled for 5 days.

So since I didn't have to worry about getting him up for school I slept in since dh keeps waking me up when he gets in at 3am! The early am is usually when I have my time to myself and I can get on here, but since I slept in I did not get on here all week.

Quick update, Shannon is doing wonderfully! She seems so happy and Steven (the ex) seems so lonely and sad. He is here everyday! He is getting better though. Danny has been spending quite a bit of time with him which Steven likes.

Other news.... DJ has lost mind. He has been overworking himself and now is getting a cold. He has been going to the gym at least 5 days a week. He goes and does his regular 2 hour workout, comes home for protein shake and some light meal then goes back for 3-4 hours of cardio! I see a re-lapse here, but he tells me no! yeah ok.

I went for my Remicaid infusion last night. I hope it really kicks in! I've been in horrible pain for about 5 days now. The weather hasn't been the best here either so I don't know what to blame. I just don't want my feet and back to hurt so much. Especially my feet!

Lets say the last time I posted I was hoping to get the tree up. Well dh didn't want to put it up that soon. So guess what? No tree yet. I have no idea when that baby is going up in this house with my hectic schedule. Maybe Sunday I will get up and then get the lights on it and the boys do the rest. They love doing it! I love watching DJ. He just gleams while putting on all his ornaments that he has made. It's funny that my kids at their ages still love doing it. My friends tell me their kids don't want anything to do with it.

Ok... this is enough for today. I'm going to see if I can catch up on some of your blogs before I have to leave. Have a Freaky Friday!

Crops

2 peas challenge for today: Do you prefer to attend crops online or in person? Explain why you like one over the other.

I first need to say that I've never done an on-line crop! I'm not sure I would like it, which is probably why I've never done it. I really do enjoy in person crops though. I love to see and watch what others are doing. I love it when the others give ideas and tips while I'm doing something. And when I'm stumped on something someone always has an idea to spark something in me. I enjoy all the noise and hustle and bustle in the room. It is just very interactive. I love being in a group sometimes. Of course there are times I just want to be alone.

Let's see what do I have planned for this weekend. Cleaning, and more cleaning. I really would like to try to get my tree up this weekend. Next week is the real beginning of wrestling season and then I will have no time to do it! I also would love to get my truck emptied out with all the gifts that I have hiding in there. As I bring in the stuff, I wrap it and put it away! Thats the only way to do it! I write everything down that I wrap this way I don't get duplicates (which will not happen this year since I'm pretty much done, just gift cards left really). I only have one more box that needs to be shipped out next week and that is it for me!

I also need to go grocery shopping! The boys said there is no food in the house, lol. There is food, just nothing that they want at that time. The kill me. DJ would be perfectly happy with his Peter Pan Peanut Butter and Polander Grape Jelly. DJ kills me, he goes through 2 big jars of peanut butter a week! Joseph would be ok with chicken nuggets! I've also been told that we need ice cream and Apple Jacks! That is what is on their grocery list! Gotta love it.

Alrighty then, I guess I really should stop procrastinating and get my butt moving and do something productive here today. I hope you all have a great weekend!

Skill's

2 peas challenge for today: What's one skill you've wanted but don't have? Wow, this is a great question and a very difficult one for me. There are sooooo many things that I've wanted but don't have. The list could take me forever. I would have to say that the one skill that I wish I was really good at would have to be ORGANIZATION! I really stink at it! I have crap everywhere. Of course I know where it all is, but it is everywhere. I'm less organizied at home. When it comes to wrestling and work (when I worked) I was pretty organized with that stuff. Unfortunately, my home is not. I really hate it that I don't have a home that is neat and organizied, but I don't have a lot of space and NO closets or storage space in this house. So everything is left out in the open and it all looks horrible.

I keep saying that I should apply for that show Clean Sweep and let them come in and do some magic. It would be amazing to see what they would do to help my situation. Plus, they usually do 2 rooms in the house! Yahoo.... I would pick my basement and .... my bedroom! It would be a lot of work. Both rooms are cluttered with tons of stuff. Oh well... a girl can dream, can't she!

Let's see... nothing else is really going on. The cold weather has come in and I'm sure I mentioned in the past that I really don't like cold weather. It just makes my days more difficult. I tried to do some on-line shopping the last few days, but nothing jumped out at me. I think I only got my boys the extra remote for the Wii. I still need to get Jonathon and Shannon gift cards and mail them. I would love to be done by December 8. That is my plan. Other than that, everything else here is pretty quite. I hope everyone has a great day!

Shopping!

Ok, I know that most of you have started your holiday shopping. I for one started a while ago! I started to pick up CD's and DVD's months ago that the kids and dh were asking for. I had a stock pile of stuff! I have to say that I'm pretty much finished. I did the major bulk on Black Friday and now I only have a few minor things to get and gift cards (which I always save for last, you can get them anytime). I also did some shopping on-line yesterday. I was able to get a few small things that I missed out on, on Friday.

The boys are very funny. They are at an age that they know the things that they are asking for are very expensive and since dh is not working it is very difficult. So each of them listed like 4-5 things.

Here is Joseph's list: Guitar Hero 2 or 3 for PS2, a video rocker chair, GPS (I had to laugh, he doesn't have a car, lol), and the Wii.
This is what he got so far: Guitar Hero 3 with 2 guitars for PS2, the video rocker, Zune 30gb, videos, cds, clothes, and the Wii (which will be shared, because DJ had that on his list also).

DJ's list: Wii, Golf game for the Wii, Bourne Ultimatium DVD, and Vitergo CGL (a weight lifting supplement), and Red Hot Chili Peppers cd.
This is what he got so far: The Wii (see above), Bourne Ultimatium, other dvds, Red Hot Chili Peppers cd, Vitergo CGL, clothes, cell phone, golf game for Wii.

The other 2 are getting AMEX gift cards. Its just easier and this way they can just go and get what they need or want.

That is it for me. I can't wait to be done. I would like to have everything done by the end of next week. That is when wrestling season kicks it up into high gear! Then I have no time for much of anything.

How are your shopping plans going? Tell me about it.

Ohhh Boy!

Well, things here have been a little crazy! This wonderful called a computer decided to CRASH on me. Just crazy. I pretty much lost everything and it took days for it to be fixed.

When the kid fixed everything... he decided to upgrade it for me to Vista! I have to say.... I really don't like it and I'm about ready to call him and tell him that I want it downgraded back to XP even though he said it runs on XP. Now I'm sure I've said this many times before.... I don't have a clue about anything with computers! Also, he lost a program that I use all the time. So he will be coming back to find it!

Thanksgiving here was pretty boring! I did all the cooking (of course). It was only Danny, DJ, Joseph and me this year. Thanksgiving, Christmas and Easter are the holidays that I wish I was in Las Vegas with the rest of my family. Then there is Black Friday, which is a big thing in my family. I go all by myself! My mom and sisters go together! We call each other, but it's different with a 3 hour time difference. This year I had to get my sister to buy a few of the items that I couldn't get here. Like the Wii, Guitar Hero III with 2 guitars and the Zune! We love AMEX! especially when its daddys, lol. I have to say that I'm pretty much done with DJ and Joseph and I only have to get Danny one more thing. As for Jonathon and Shannon its going to be AMEX gift cards. I only need to get my dad and my niece and nephew who are all getting gift cards. Then I'm done with the exception of Laceys gifts.

Other than that.... nothing much is going on here. I gave my kids and dh my Xmas list and they all lol. They have some nerve. I really didn't ask for anything outrageous. I have a very simple list. I need a new pair of cushionie slippers, warm gloves, I would love the Xyron 510 or 900 (I would be happy with either), and my own camera (dh keeps taking mine and now it works like crap, plus I can never find it. He keeps locking it up in the garage!). So that is pretty much my list! I think its pretty reasonable, what do you think?

Oh well,,,, that is it for me today. I hope everyone has a great day.

MIA!

Yes, I'm sorry to say that I've been Missing In Action. The weather here this week just made my RA flair up so bad I couldn't even sit at the computer really to get anything done. Pretty much all I've done is sleep during the day since dh seems to think it is funny to wake me up at 2am lately just to annoy me and once I'm up I can't get back to sleep. Lately, I'm not liking him much.

Shannon made it across the country just fine. She got a job the day she got there. I'm so proud of her. She is going to be just fine. As for Steven (ex-bf) I'm not so sure. He is having a very difficult time with all this. He was here last night almost in tears over the whole thing. I really do hope he starts to grow up a little and hopefully they are able to work things out. I know they love each other, but she is just tired of him being a teenager wanna be. She is growing and he is stuck in time. Whatever will be , will be.

Of course this is my hectic time of the year. Wrestling just started and as most of you know I'm still doing the team mom thing even though none of my kids are on the team. I am training someone to take over for next year though. There is so much to do this year and I'm hoping that I stay healthy this year so I can get it all done. The coaches had a parent meeting the other night and the one coach was like Lynn can no longer be called a Team Mom since she doesn't have any kids on the team so now we will just call her a Team Groupie. Most of the parents were like "Coach, she will always be the Team MOM" I think that was so nice of those parents. I think that is because none of them want the responiblity of keeping this team all together. Oh well, as long as I'm here I will continue to be a part of this team.

Nothing else is really going on here. I am getting my list ready for my Black Friday shopping spree. I hope to have most of my shopping done by the end of that night! I am not going crazy this year (can't afford to), but I am getting everyone the main thing on their list.

Ok... at least the sun is shinning this morning. I hope it continues to shine the entire day. I'm tired of looking out side and it is awful gray and dark and looking like snow or rain. I hope everyone has a terrific weekend.

Leaving on a Jet Plane

Yes... Shannon is at the airport as I type this. She is awaiting her flight to Las Vegas to start on her new life. I think this is going to be great for her. She was very emotional last night and this morning. I have a to get a box or two so I can send everything that she left behind that she could not fit in her luggage.

Steven (the boyfriend/ex-bf) was driving her to the airport this morning. She was not thrilled with him this morning to say the least. He didn't want to get up. Almost like he wanted her to miss the flight, which was pissing the hell out of her. We are pretty lucky that the airport she was going out of is only about 15 mins away from the house. He acted like he has never been there and wanted her to write down directions. Hello.... you are only driving on 2 roads the entire time! You can't get lost.

Well, lets see.... nothing else is really going on here. Pretty much the same ole' crap just a different day to be honest. Yesterday it looked like it was going to snow, but never did and today it is looking pretty much the same way. This is not going to be good for me I can tell. The Remicaid has not kicked in.

2peas challenge for today: I spend a lot of time online because... I usually am trying to avoid doing something that needs to be done. Like clean the bathroom or cook dinner! Or I'm just not motivated to do anything else and don't want to sit and watch tv or read a book. I've become very boring in my old age I think. I just can't be bothered somedays to do anything even get on here.

Alrighty then.....on that note, I'm getting off here. Hope everyone has a great day!

Flylady, Fly!

Well.... it is fastly getting to be that time of year again. I don't know about you, but I do get somewhat frazzled with everything going on. I mean really! how am I suppose to clean, cook, shop, get gifts, scrapbook, work drive everyone (ok... just Joseph), decorate and do wrestling all at the same time! It just can't be done I say. Well maybe it can,,, just not by a sane person, which of course I am not!

So here is a little secret. I've joined Flylady.com a long time, but fell off the wagon. Its now time to jump back on this horse (or fly) and get myself organized and clean. She is very inspirational and has it down let me tell you. When I'm doing it her way... my house never looked so good. So I'm recruiting all the kids (ok, DJ and Joseph since Shannon leaves in 4 days) and DH to get themselves back to helping me out. I mean really, it's their house also. I can't even get DJ to get the garbage to the curb on garbage days even after I remind him, I swear.

Well, Flylady has a great check list FlyLady.net: Cruising Through The Holidays really a good thing. Go check it out and you will be flying through the holidays with no worries. Also, if you join Flylady, she will send you emails throughtout the day as reminders. I have to be honest..... I have not done one Flylady mission in months! That is why my house and the rest of me is a mess.

She also has a book that she wrote: The title is Sink Reflections and you can get it here- FlyLady.net: FlyLady’s Gifts and Gift Ideas Check out her website FlyLady.net: Your personal online coach to help you gain control of your house and home She is really great and let me tell you if you want a great featherduster her's is the one to get! I bought it for my sister and she will never use anything else. I should get one for me.

Ohhh well.... I guess I should be flying out of here right now. Have ton's to do again today. I hope you all have a Fun Friday!

Favorite Quote

Todays 2 peas challenge is: Find a quotation that moves you and write it down. Why does it move you?
My quote is:
You never stand so tall as when you stoop to help a child.
I have loved this quote for over 24 years. I saw this when I moved up here from FL. It is on a huge sign (smaller than a billboard) on the side of a main road. The sign is surrounded by trees. I thought that it was weird that this sign was sitting on the side of road near the cementeries, but no matter how many times I go past it, I have to slow down and get the whole effect of it and read it slowly to myself.
I'm not really sure why it moved me.... maybe because I was a fairly new mom when I first saw it and it really made me think... you know to a child we are tall and strong. When a child needs help with something and we bend over to help them... guess what? We are STILL TALL! we've just come down to their level to help them out. That is what a child sees. A giant helping them.
Well that is my take on my favorite quote. I can't wait to read others.
Today, there is alot going on. I have work, plus I really need to clean this house a little and then I have my 4-5 hours of Remicaid infusion. I am really hoping that the Remicaid kicks in this time around. It really didn't do a thing last month to be honest. I go back to the dr. next week and I know he is going to take me off it if it doesn't work this time around.
Other than that, that is really it. Not sure I could any more than that today anyway.
Hope everyone has a Great Thursday.

More Halloween

Ok.... I know it has taken me awhile to get this on here, but lately it's been a process. So here we go just some more photos of Halloween.

The first few are Joseph carving his pumpkin (finally). I think he did a great job on it. His pumpkin was very big also. Almost as large as DJ's.
I also did another pumpkin so Joseph wouldn't feel all alone (which he should've since he ditched us all the night before to hang out with friends). Now, Shannon decided to dress up as a clown for Halloween while working at the deli since a bunch of kids were going there from the "Make a Wish" Foundation. She thought it would be cute to be a clown. I have to say she looked pretty good, but she also looked a scary. I didn't get to see her until she came home that day from work and it was funny because she soon realized that alot of people (adults) are afraid of clowns! Who knew? Oh well like I say... Live and Learn.

Then she changed for a party that night into her Dorothy costume. She looked very cute. DJ was joining her there, but decided to go as himself...... a bodybuilder. He just kills me!
Well... thats really it for me today, I have work and need to get my behind moving here.

Earliest Memories

2 peas challenge for today: What is your earliest memory? Why has it stayed with you? Wow this is another great question. I remember being 4 years old and having to wear a patch over my right eye and also having to wear these baby blue & glitter cats eye glasses. I don't know why I remember that, maybe because it seemed to be very tramatic for a 4 year old to have to go through. I'm not really sure which was worse... the patch or the glasses. Apparently, it worked... because I only needed to wear them for about a year or so and then no glasses for me until just recently.

Creativity?

2 peas challenge for today: What does creativity mean to you? Wow! This is an incredible question for today. What does creativity mean? There are so many ways to be creative. So here are a few that pop to mind right now.
1. Creativity is in the mind of the beholder (everyone is creative in one way or another)
2. To produce something (anything) that can be admired by the creator and others
3. To think outside of the box (try something you might not or have never thought to try before)
4. Do what you love!
5. Create what you feel not what others want you to feel
6. Use your imagination
Everyone is different and create in different ways. Like ... take my kids... I have Jonathon who is very creative in writing. He can write just wonderfully. Then you have Shannon who has a very good eye for color and clothing design. Oh then you've got DJ he is the archetech. He can design awesome buildings and homes. Now lets not forget Joseph... he is wonderful at drawing and designing modes of transportation. He just loves drawing vehicles, motorcyles and planes. He also loves to give them awesome paint jobs. Each one is creative in their own way. That is what makes them unique.
Well... thats it for me today. I hope everyone has a Super Saturday!

It's Friday!

Well as some of you may have noticed I haven't been on here the past 2 days. Just so much going on and I've been in some pain the last few days, which only means we are going to be getting some kind of storm. It has been pretty bad where almost every bone is hurting me. I'm not sure that the Remicaid is actually working this time. This is not good. I'm almost ready to hop on the plane with Shannon in 12 days and get out of here for a week or so. The only problem is Danny is such a baby and gets pissed off when I go during school. He doesn't really care if I go and Joseph is off. He doesn't know how to handle Joseph and get him up for school. This of course limits me to when I can actually go.

Lets see .... what else is going on here. Nothing really. I do have pictures somewhere that I want to load up of Halloween and more of the pumpkin carving. I have to say we did not have many trick-or-treaters this year. I didn't think we would due to it being on a Wednesday, but it just seems like we get less and less every year.

Ok... thats it for me today hope everyone has a Fantastic Friday!

Pumpkins?

Well as funny as it may seem the 2 peas challenge for today was: have you carved your pumpkins yet? If so did you take pics to make a layout.

Well as a matter of fact, last night we finally got around to carving some of our pumpkins! We had a lot of fun, but we are not finished yet. We even had Shannon's ex-bf stop over to carve a pumpkin since his family does nothing like that and we didn't want him to feel abandoned.
So let the photos begin!
First here are a few photos of Shannon and DJ cleaning out their pumpkins (and one of me, ugh)
This is dh Danny's pumpkin. He never carved pumpkins with us before, but really wanted to do one this year. So I think he did a great job (of course, I had to clean out his pumpkin because he is clueless).
Next is DJ, his pumpkin was HUGE! as you may have noticed in the previous photos of him cleaning it out. He carved a pirate ship into his. I really came out great. Of course I don't have a photo yet of it during daylight, but it glows really nice. Then here is mine. I didn't think it was going to turn out so good. The photos don't do it justice (mainly because of the flickering light). I think it is pretty scary. Here is Steven's (Shannon's ex). I really could not get a good photo of his I think it got to windy and he had it so close to mine so all that candle light flickering didn't help. His is very nice and he did it all free hand! It has a bat, a spider, and a girl on the side, plus he carved out MY LOVE on the top. Very nice. I will take day light photos today. Now as for Shannon's, she is not done! She is doing something that is so difficult, I can't believe her. I hope it stands up nice for her. She is working very hard on it. We were carving until almost 11pm last night.
Yesterday when I got home I had an envelope in the mail from Heather. Heather is so sweet. I could not believe it when I opened it to find 2 Cricut crayons and this adorable card she made. I had just recently read about the new Cricut crayons and was thinking of getting them for me and my sister. I can't wait to try them out.

Heather, Thank you again! This was such a wonderful surprise and thoughtful gift. You are really wonderful.

So my friends, I've bored the heck out of you all today. Come back tomorrow for more pumpkins! I will also have daylight photos of the ones already done.

Hope you all have a Terrific Tuesday!

Journaling?

2 peas challenge for today: Are you the type of person who thinks you need to have journaling on every layout you create?

I don't think that every layout needs to have journaling, but I seem to do it on just about all my layouts. It is weird, I feel if I don't journal that I will forget in time what actually happened on that day or that moment so I feel the need to journal so I won't forget the story. I think I have only 1 or 2 layouts that don't have any journaling on them.

I've seen many, many layouts that don't have any journaling on them and they are just beautiful and I say to myself "why can't I do that?" I just can't bring myself to do it. I want my kids, grandkids, and maybe even great-grandchildren to know the story behind the photos when I'm gone. I have inherited boxes full of photos that were my grandparents and no one knows who half the people are in them. It is actually sad, because I'm sure they are related in some way or another and we have no way of knowing for sure.

So there you have it, I journal because I feel the need to tell the story that someday no one will remember.

Hope you all have a Marvelous Monday!

Updates?

Well, today I find myself with nothing too new or exciting to talk about. So I decided to update everyone with what is going on here with everyone. My blogging friends are like family and know a lot of what goes on in my life so I figured I should keep you updated.
Lets see where to start?...... Danny (dh), has decided to continue to grow his hair out (which I hate btw), and thinks that it is straight (insert me lmao). Since turning 50, 2 weeks ago, he is going through a mid-life crisis. So the other day he decided to spray paint his entire truck black! Now I can't even tell you how many can's of spray paint he used, but it was a lot and he needed to go back for more.
Here is a photo of before:
Here is a photo of after: It looks nice I have to say. He did a pretty good job and it gave him something to do for 2 days!
As for Jonathon (24yo, ds) he is still living in Vegas. He loves it there. I'm very happy for him. He has a nice house and is perfectly happy with his life right now. He is finally starting to grow up and is calming down on the partying all the time and every night.
Now for Shannon, she has just recently broken up with Steven (bf of over 4 yr's). She has also quit her job at the bank and has decided to move back to Vegas! She leaves in less then 3 weeks! I'm so proud of her. She is finally standing up for what she wants and doesn't care what everyone else wants her to do. I'm very happy for her. This is something that I was hoping she would do a long time ago. She hasn't decided if she is going to live with my sister or ds Jonathon yet. Its a big decision for her. She is about to start a new and exciting life. She is looking forward to it.

ok.... where do I start with DJ? I think you all know him the best! This was my one kid that I never had to worry about and the most level headed of the group. He was always determined to get what he wanted and now that he had to quit school and can't wrestle this season I know that it really got to him. DJ lives to wrestle and workout. He has been back to gym the last 2 weeks since being sick and is doing sooooo much better, but the not being able to wrestle is killing him (and me for that matter). This is the first time in 14 years that he has not been able to wrestle. Now what do I do? Thank goodness I'm still the team mom.lol. Also, he is looking at getting rid of his Suburban and getting a different vehicle. He just kills me. He has gotten very lazy around the house also. It is a form of depression I'm sure, but he is giving me a run for my money lately. Now as for Joseph (16yo ds), this kid is making me gray and age faster than any other! All I can say, Is if he was child #1 there would not have been any others! He is constantly disobeying, angry at the world, doesn't want to do anything with his life, but hang out. DJ calls him a dirt-ball (don't ask). He is a gang wanna-be! Which scares the hell out of me. He is smoking and he lies about every single thing. Everything that comes out of his mouth is one big lie! He hangs out with the wrong people (most of the time). Lets just say that he is slowly killing me! I do have to give him kudos, because all of his teachers (with the exception of gym) have stated that he is doing wonderfully in their classes this year so far. This is a great improvement. Even last night.... I asked him to be home by 9:30 and he didn't bother to walk into the house until 10:15 with of course the excuse that he ran into a friend and was talking to him, but he was also already on his way home. Give me a break. He just likes breaking the rules and loves to see how far he can push me. Needless to say... grounded for the weekend, because I did tell him if he was not home by 9:30 he would be grounded for the entire weekend.

Ok... that is it for me today. Have to get moving here. Hope you all have a Fantastic Friday.

Working at the Car Wash!

Well as some of you know I had a Car Wash fund raiser for the Wrestling team on Sunday and I have to say it went pretty well. I think we could've done a little better, but given that the weather broke that day (it ended up being almost 80 in October in NY!) people headed off to the pumpkin fields or beach instead. I had 20 boys show up to help plus some parents and we raised $500. I think that was pretty good for our first time even attempting this sort of fund raiser. All the money is going towards reducing the cost of summer camp for whoever attends. I am hoping to also getting a bake sale in there in the next month and maybe a chinesse auction. As I mentioned previously, I forgot my camera so I have no photos of my own. Waiting for one mom who brought down her camera for a little while to give me photos as soon as I get them, I'll post them.

I've been tagged by Colleen:
1. Link to the person that tagged you and post the rules on your blog.
Colleens blog: Random Pondering
2. Share 7 random and/or weird facts about yourself (on your blog, we all want to know them).
1. I do not like the cold weather.
2. I can whistle like a man and I've been told that it is much louder than a mans!
3. I could sit in a hot tub for hours.
4. This is not my natural hair color (shoot! did I really say that?) I color it myself and it takes me almost 1 1/2 hours from start to finish. The color I use most often is LoReal's For Dark Hair Only- RED HOT
5. I was a catcher in softball for many years until a knee injury and then I played first base for 7 years. I even played on a major womens team at the age of 17.
6. I could eat ice cream everyday. (and usually do, lol)
7. I'm a tough love type of person. Kids today have most things handed to them on a silver platter. I saw a 16 year old the other day in his new BMW that his daddy gave him. What are we teaching our kids? My kids had to earn their first vehicle from me and let me say most of the vehicles were over 20 years years old or close to it when they got it. Not only that.... they have to pay their insurance on their vehicles also. Hello, I don't have an extra $3,000-$5,000. to spare.

What Color?

you are deeppink
#FF1493

Your dominant hues are red and magenta. You love doing your own thing and going on your own adventures, but there are close friends you know you just can't leave behind. You can influence others on days when you're patient, but most times you just want to go out, have fun, and do your own thing.

Your saturation level is high - you get into life and have a strong personality. Everyone you meet will either love you or hate you - either way, your goal is to get them to change the world with you. You are very hard working and don't have much patience for people without your initiative.

Your outlook on life is very bright. You are sunny and optimistic about life and others find it very encouraging, but remember to tone it down if you sense irritation.

What were you doing?

The 2 peas challenge for today: What were you doing 10 years ago around this time? What were you doing 5 years ago around this time? What are you doing right now? What do you think you will be doing in the future?
Well for me about 10 years ago I know that I was camping. We would always go camping around this time (dh's birthday). The kids and dh always had a great time. I like camping, but I can no longer do the tent and sleepingbag thing. Lets not forget that normally at this time of the year it is usually pretty cold especially at night. I would sleep in my van on the bed and usually by 3am everyone else had mosey on in there also. 6 of us on the bed in the van, no room to turn thats for sure. On the way home we would stop off at the pumpkin farm out east and pick our pumpkins. That is the way it has been for many, many years.
What do I think I will be doing in the future? Hmmmm.... I'm not really sure. I do know that in 2 years from now I won't be here anymore (at least I'm praying that I won't be here in NY anymore). I plan on being in Las Vegas or close to there.

Thats it for me for today. I am just so tired the last 2 days. I think I over did it at the Wrestling Car Wash on Sunday, which I still need to write about. Can you believe that I forgot to bring my camera! I can't. I am so mad at myself. One of the other mom's brought down a camera for a little while and took a few photos so, I am waiting for her to send them to me. I will tell you all about that probably tomorrow. We had fun.

Hope everyone has a Terrific Tuesday!

Getting Ready

We are getting ready for a Car Wash fund raiser for the Wrestling team. It is this Sunday and I'm happy to say that Applebee's was kind enough to give of the use of their parking lot and water. Hopefully the weather people are right and the weather is nice like they are predicting. I'm hoping that we will raise about $1,000. at this Car Wash. This will be a big help in sending the boys to camp this summer.

Planning a Car Wash is no easy task, let me tell you. You have to find a place that will allow you to do it first of all. Then you have to keep reminding the boys that they NEED to be there. Then you have to try to recruit the help of parents (which is normally easy with this group of parents, but not this time). You also need to purchase the supplies you will need: soap, sponges, rags, oak tag (for signs), cases of water (for the boys and to sell). You have to make flyers and then beg businesses to hang them in their windows (loads of fun there). It is just a ton of planning and I have NO co-mom to help. The co-mom that was suppose to train this year to take over is never around and has not returned my calls (this is not making me happy, grrrrr).

Anyway, it should be a good day. I think the boys will have fun and hopefully it will be profitable. I'm sure I will be taking ton's of photo's, so be prepared Monday. This is the flyer that I did to hang up in the store fronts. Nothing great, very simple I think.

Hope everyone has a Terrific Thursday.

Four Things

2 peas challenge for today: Share four things about yourself that make you the person you are today as a creator/artist. Hmmmm this is a tough one for me. I really don't look at myself or talk about "ME", I always talk or think about my family, friends, and of course wrestling. So this is going somewhat out of the box for me. But here it goes.
1. I am BOLD! This allows me to try different things that I might not otherwise. It doesn't mean that I'm going to do it all the time, but I will try it at least once.
2. I am uninhibited (did I spell that right, hmmm) I pretty much do what I like. I don't have any real design in mind. I just look at what I'm working on and go with it.
3. I love COLOR! My favorites to work with lately are green, orange and reds. I don't really know why, but maybe it has something to do with fall.
4. I'm a PROCRASTINATOR. It could take me hours, days, weeks, months even years to finish a layout. If it is not right I leave it until something strikes me.
Oh well... that is all from me today. Have too much to do this morning. Hope everyone has a Wild Wednesday.

Looking Good At 50!

Yep.... dh Danny turned 50 yesterday! I think he is still looking good for 50! I hope I still look good at 50 shoot. We had a very pleasant day yesterday. It was nice and quite. DJ and I went to pick up his gifts, which took over an hour. The kids wanted to get him an Olympic weight bench and weight set. It was something that he was talking about for the last few weeks so they jumped on it. The only problem is that Danny was not expecting anything like that and didn't have any room to put it in the garage. The longest part (the bar) is 7 ft long! Ohhhh well. I think he is looking forward to working out a little every day. We know that DJ is! lol He was drooling all over this thing.

Saturday, the kids and I went to the pumpkin farm. It was packed and I have to tell you that I was shocked at the price a lb. they were getting for those pumpkins! It costs a small fortune to get 4 pumpkins! It was 65 cents a pound! That is highway robbery! Not only that, but you could tell that the farm owners placed all the pumpkins in this field, it was not the actual field that they were grown in. Needless to say, my kids were pissed off about that. Hello.... I told them... they are not kids anymore, but they were still pissed. I guess next year they will be going out East for them in the real fields.

So later Saturday night, Danny and I were left alone and still did not eat. We decided to take a ride and then we would stop for dinner somewhere along the way. As we were driving we passed this street farm that had TON's of pumpkins out! I could've sworn I saw a sign that said 19 cent's a pound. We turned in and sure enough it was! So yes... we got some more pumpkins and our 4 pumpkins cost 40.00 less then the pumpkins we got at the farms and I think they were much nicer! Amazing! Then we drove around for about an hour and we stopped at this place called The Bulldog Grille. We've never been there. It looked really nice. We were somewhat hungry so we were staying no matter what, but the food was not the greatest. Service was great though. That will be the last time we go there. After that we came home to an empty house and sat and watched "The Holiday" with Cameron Diaz, Jack Black, Kate Winslet, Jude Law. I really loved this movie! It is more of a chick flick, but Danny thought it was cute. Then the kids starting flowing in of course near the end of the movie and they all wanted to know what we were watching. I'm now at the point... don't interupt my movie near the end mode. You will have to find out everything after this movie has ended I tell them. They are too much, my kids!

Well, that is the weekend in a nutshell! I pretty much got nothing done in the house that I really wanted to, but that is too bad and there is all this week for me to procrastinate some more.
Thats it for me today. I have to get moving and get to work, ugh! Hope everyone has a Marvelous Monday!

Scrapping Plans?

2 peas challenge for today:
Any big scrapping plans for the weekend?
I can say.... NO. I've been dying to get down in that room and at least try to clean it up a little, but to no avail. Something always stops me. I'm not sure what it is lately, I just don't want to go down in the dungeon and clean. Hmmmm who cleans a dungeon? Can I hire them? I wonder how much they charge. It might be well worth it though this way it is just done. I wonder if I can apply for that show Clean Sweep! Once wrestling season starts in just 5 short weeks I'll hardly ever get down there. As a matter of fact I have almost 500 photos of DJ last year that I still have not put into albums. I really have fallen behind. I just need to make a plan and stick to it. Easier said then done.

Yesterday was my day at Remicaid. So much fun. As usual I was the last one to get done. It was 8:30pm and I was going to fly home so I didn't miss Grey's last night.
What did everyone think of Grey's? I thought it was pretty good. I just loved that "Really Old Guy" aka Charlie woke up and new everything that was going with them all. He was so funny with Izzy. I loved that Derek yelled at Mark and Chief and told them that they were old and should not have done that surgery. How about Miranda helping out Callie? I think they would be a good team. Callie is soft and Miranda is tough. And I'm so glad that Meredith caught on about Cristina faking that she is soooo sad with the woooo is me trick, she is back to her normal self. I was a little upset with the end... I think Alex was just plain mean to George! That was not nice at all. He didn't need to do that. I was a little happy that George told Callie that he slept with Izzy though. I'm looking forward to next week.

Now as for Big Shots last night... I only got to watch about 1/2 of it before passing out cold from the IV treatment. I'm going to have to finally break down and get the DVR box from Cablevision. I just hate that I have to disconnect this one and then reconnect the new one. Its a big pain in the butt. So did anyone watch Big Shots last night that can catch me up fromt he re-bachelor party when he left with the blonde and she pulled out all the condoms? I'm going to check ABC and see if I can watch it there. I doubt it, but it can't hurt to try.

For tonights viewing pleasures... I'm looking forward to my Men in Trees premiere tonight. There is also another new show starting tonight starring I think Angie Harmon, just can't remember the title... something Womens Murder Club, this looks interesting.

Ok... nothing else to report here. I've got a lot to do today hopefully I won't fall asleep before I get it all done. Have a great day and weekend.

Raccoons or Squirrels?

Well this is the ultimate question for this morning. Late last night or should I really say about 3am this morning Lacey (our dog) jumped off the bed and ran to the window. Now she normally never jumps off the bed unless someone just came home or someone or something is in front of the house. All of a sudden I start hearing this unbelievable animal screeching. It was in the tree in the front and to be honest I'm not sure if it was 2 squirrels or a raccoon after a squirrel. This lasted for about a minute and was making Lacey crazy! She was barking like crazy and kept running from the room to the back door like she had to get out there. I finally let her out the back so she could see that they were gone, but she insisted on barking anyway. Eventually I was able to get her back in the house, but she kept a vigil at the window for about another 30 mins. which kept me up. With that I didn't get back to sleep until 5:30am! The fun just never ends here. Something exciting with every twist and turn!

2 peas challenge for today:
Are you a person who will go out of your norm to try something new at least once. Or stay with that your comfortable with?
I think that I mostly stay in my comfort zone in most cases. I have and will try something new a lot of times, but then I just go back to what I'm comfortable with. I think that I'm a creature of habit.

Thats it for me today. I have work (which they keep cutting my hours, I'm not happy about that)today 10-1. Why bother I think sometimes. Then later I'm going for my IV treatment. I hope this one really kicks in. The last one really didn't work that great. Other than that nothing much is going on.

Hope everyone has a Terrific Thursday.

Being that it is October 9th, I am made to remember my sil's birthday and John Lennon. She is a big fan of his. This is one of my favorites of his.

William Tell Overture

This is absolutely the best thing I've heard in a long time. Enjoy and I hope you brings a smile to your face because it did to mine!

So much to do......

and NO energy to do it! I have been like this since the middle of the summer. I don't know what is going on but it is kill me. My entire house really needs to overhauled. I know I should just do it in little spurts (that's what others say) so that I am not overwhelmed, but I really don't even want to do that.

My plan for this weekend was to clean my scrap area. Well.... I never even stepped foot down there this entire weekend. Yesterday I really did nothing. I went to a small craft show, which was really horrible. Nothing really exciting or motivating to be honest.

I did however find a wonderful candle booth which is operated by a husband and wife and they make soy candles. The scents are just wonderful. I bought 3 small candles in 3 different scents, but I have to say that my favorite scent was the Banana Nut Bread! Unfortunately, they did not have any of that scent in the size that I was buying. Oh well... I did however get Montauk Breeze, Kiwi Strawberry, and Pomegranite Passion. Very nice scents! I also found out that they are going to start to do parties and they do fund raisers (which I am very interested in).

Today I am doing all the laundry! This is no small task in this house and I've decided to get motivated a little and at least clean the entire bathroom from top to bottom (since no else is going to do it in this house). This will be another challenge for me today since I'm still not sleeping good and in quite a bit of pain still! But it needs to be done. I'm taking baby steps!

Ok.... So on that note I better get my behind moving here and get some stuff going. I'm on my 2nd load of laundry so that is a start. Hope everyone is having a terrific weekend.

TGI-Friday!

This is how I feel this morning! Again, I really didn't sleep last night and was sadly in quite a bit of pain all night. I could not figure out why I was in so much pain, then this morning I get up and as the sun is trying to break through I notice that it must've rained some last night and apparently there is a ton of humidity here today. Well.... by golly that would explain all my pain. I can't even begin to tell you how many times I got up last night to just walk a bit and hopefully it was going to make it better (it didn't btw). What I really should've done was when I got up at the 4am time I should've just hopped in for a really nice hot bath, but no.... I didn't do that. Live and Learn.

Ok... enough about my sleepnapea, moving on to the Thursday night shows! What did you think of Greys last night? I thought it was great. I think my favorite part was when Dr. Bailey started hitting Alex and then he said Thank You to her. That was great. I'm not sure if I like the whole idea of Callie losing it sooooo soon in the season. I don't know where George and her are going to end up, but it is obvious that he loves Izzy. I think Meredith is being very mean Lexi (the half sister). I mean really, this poor kid didn't even know she had an older sister, they've both been wronged by the father. I really thought that Derek was going to break up with her also last night, but that didn't happen, in a way I'm glad. I'm sure that I missed some other highlights, please feel free to add them in the comments.

Now, this new show BIG SHOTS just has me rolling. It is pretty funny. I really love the writing on this show. If you have not watched it yet, you really need to. If you have not seen it yet and want to know what its about click here: Big Shots - Home - ABC.com It is one of my new fav's!

Now 2 peas challenge: What are your scrappin plans for the weekend? I really don't have any plans, but I do know that if the weather (and the pain) are good, I'm going down there and trying to get it all cleaned and organized! This has got to happen soon. I can't stand looking at it any more.
That's it for me.... Ohhh btw- if you missed Pushing Up Daisies and/or Private Practice on Wednesday I heard that they are re-showing them tonight so check your local listings.
Hope everyone has a wonderful day and a terrific weekend!

Somethings Wrong?

Here it is 3am and I can't sleep. I don't know what it is for the past week or so, but I will usually fall back to sleep about 5am and then I have to get up by 6:30am to get Joseph out the door (he can't function in the mornings, me either lately!). Then I stay up because if I go back to sleep for that hour or so... I can not get moving when its time to. Its almost like having a hangover, but I didn't get to have fun or a drink for that matter. I go to work until usually 2 (even though now they are screwing up everyones schedules and making cut backs, how do you cut back someone who only works 25 hours a week?) and by 3pm I'm usually crashed out across my bed for at least an hour nap. This is not normal! I'm usually a very busy person and have tons of energy. Not lately though. And then add that I haven't been sleeping good either at night, my world is crashing.

I did mention all this to my doctor who still believes that it is depression. I was taking a medicine and I have to tell you that it made me feel worse than before. I slept all the time during the day and at night was sleeping , but was not comfortable and woke up really late and with the hangover affect. Plus, I gained almost 20 lbs in 2 months from this crap! What is that all about. I wasn't even eating really. I had no appetite. So we finally convinced my prescription plan to give me the medicine that my doctor first wanted me on. Lets see how this goes. It can't hurt to try at this point. I will be starting it tomorrow (this morning). I know that it does take time to kick in, but I'm hoping (crossing my fingers) that this one works. I really don't like taking all this medicine. Maybe that is why I constantly have heartburn and acid reflux. I'm about to give up real soon with all the meds and just take nothing, but I really do know what will happen (done this before) and ended up in the hospital and spending 2 years in a wheel chair.

Ok... on to some good stuff! Did anyone see Private Practice last night? I cried at the end. This was a very sad situation. I think this show may be a keeper. I love how strong Madison is. Now I have to say I did put on the new show Pushing up Daisies, but didn't really get to watch it all. I'm not really sure about this show. It was a little weird to say the least. Then I was in full focus (well most of the time, when Joseph wasn't bothering me) on Dirty, Sexy, Money! I really love this show. All the little twists and turns. Very interesting to see what is going to happen next. I would have to say this is a Must Watch Show. Now again I have not gotten the DVR from cable company yet... so I kept switching inbetween Private Practice and Kitchen Nightmares with Gordon Ramsey! I just love this show and again he was right out here on Long Island! I can't wait to visit this restaurant.

I have not scrapbooked in days now... still trying to figure out how to get the little area I have down in the basement (with all dh's stuff thrown all about, and did I mention all the dust, cobwebs and who knows what else) cleaned up and organized. I really have to work on this this weekend.

Ohhh well............ I've rambled on forever, ok... 18 mins actually, but that is enough of your precious time. Go on... get out of here and have today.

Where do you go?

The 2 peas challenge for today is: When you are stuck and need some inspiration. Where do you turn? I know that there are so many places to turn to, but truthfully, I always turn to my 2 peas blogging friends. You guys are always supportive and constantly inspiring me with new ideas. I will also take a little carpet ride through the 2 peas gallery to see what others are creating. It is really amazing at what you will find there. There is so much creativeness there, sometimes it just kicks my creative juices into high gear. Then I just hope for the best.

Other inspiration comes from my sister. Since we web cam almost every day and she is a scrapper also we always bounce ideas off each other. We also share every single one of our pictures so we know what photo(s) we are working on at the time. Sometimes its a little weird, because all of sudden we are telling the other what photos we are doing and we picked the same photos. Then we decide not to show each other what we are doing with them and give a time frame to be completely done and then we show our creations. Its really fun. We have pretty different styles so its nice to see the photos that you are working on in a different lo.

I will also go through some magazines and books for some inspiration. But the first 2 are my main helpers, lol.

TV this week so far.....
House: Ok... I don't know about any of you, but I just kept lol last night with House. I just loved this episode this week. Now for anyone that watched...... Is the one guy (who looks of Indian decent) Bug from Crossing Jordan. He just looks and sounds a lot like him. I could've also sworn that I saw the guy from Men in Black.... the pawn shop guy who grows his head back. Ok.. maybe I'm losing it. If you watched... what did you think? I really loved it. He was very witty again, harsh, and mean sometimes, typical House. I loved the scenes when Chase, Cameron, and Foreman come walking in slow motion. Then the scene when he does surgery and Chase is in the observation room and gives the diagnoses. That was priceless! I'm also glad that he "Fired" those twins (boring) and that other girl (with the accent) at the end. I really didn't care for her.... too snooty if you ask me. I was a little surprised that he kept the plastic surgeon and that blonde girl, but we will see what happens next week.

Has anyone gotten to watch this new show Cane? Staring Jimmy Smits. It is pretty good. It is much different than what I expected, but it is getting very interesting and I'm wondering where it is going to end up going. It is basically about 2 families, one is from the town they are in (somewhere in FL, I think, very southern state) and the other family came over from Cuba and planted themselves right there in the town on many acres of land and started a sugar cane farm. Which the other family also owns a sugar cane farm, but does not like the Cuban family and for many years has tried to get rid of them with numerous things (like killing the youngest daughter and never getting caught). Apparently, Jimmy Smits was adopted by the Cuban family many years ago when he was a young boy and actually seen one of the men who worked for the other family kidnap the little girl, but no one every believed him because that family is very prominent in the community. Now Smits has grown up and married the daughter of the Cuban family, how weird is that. The Cuban father (you know him I just can't think of his name... Hector something or nother) decides he is going to retire and give each of his 3 kids 30% of the business and Smits gets 10% giving him full control of the company. Now a family feud is going on. It gets even more interesting. If you go here you might be able to get a better idea of what I'm talking about since I'm just rambling on. Cane on CBS.com - Home

Breast Cancer Awareness

Ok ladies..... It is that time of the year again. Yep... Time to get the girls checked out if you have not done so already. I actually had mine done back in February. That is usually a less hectic time for me and the mammo places are not as packed. So please ... if you have not gone this year yet, try to get there this month. Remember, It can save your life.

Now, I have been a slacker with doing the 2 peas challenges, so this one I decided to do today.
When doing a layout, do you chose to mat or not mat your photos? Well, honestly it depends on the photos and how I am planning on doing the actual layout. Sometimes I love to mat and other times I just want to finish the darn page and get it over with (as sad as that sounds). Now that I think about it... I will usually mat most of the photos though. There are a few layouts that I did not.

Now... I don't remember where I got this little blog thing below... it is something fun to do when you have nothing else really going on, but it sure is right on. I just answered the questions very honestly and to be honest I thought it was going to pop up with something in Colorado or like Montana somewhere. Its funny how some things work out and hopefully I will finally be there in 2 years for a very long time.
