Medical Update!

Again... I have to Thank everyone who visited here and wished DJ luck and prayers. You all have made this path that we are taking much easier for us.

Ok... we went to the specialist. He was very nice and very informative. I could not believe how much time he spent explaining everything to us. Danny of course was not in his element and just couldn't sit still (ladies, it gets worse when they turn 50 apparently). DJ was staring at him like he was a nut! But that is how Danny gets when he is nervous.

Anyway.... DJ does indeed have Epstein Barrs disease, which he will host for the rest of his life. Also, according to the blood work.... he had full blown Mono about 2 weeks ago and it is now leaving. Apparently, DJ can get a flair up (if that is what you want to call it) at any time. It would really flair if he is in contact with someone who is really sick even with just a flu bug. Like one of his bf's who had mono 3 weeks ago! Epstein Barr is like a parent of mono. It also goes hand and hand with any time of herpes (ie: cold sores, chicken pox, shingles) you get the picture. He will be fine in a few weeks, he just needs to take it easy. The dr thinks he is also having a very bad allergy season which can enhance the Epstein Barr, so he gave him the Z pack. DJ can get continue to get really sick and often if he doesn't take good care of himself for up to 2 years! It can take Epstein Barr 2 years to go into remission. Hopefully that won't happen and it will be much sooner.
I had to get him withdrawn from college yesterday also. It was very sad. He was upset and so was I. He has been looking so forward to this and wrestling for this school now that is over until next year. As long as he is feeling well, he is going to start up again in the spring. But wrestling season for college is over in March. Oh well.

Well, by the end of the evening I was too exhausted from all the running around (that campus is huge) that I did not do any scrapbooking. I sat and watched the first 1/2 of Dancing with the Stars (I just love that model-I think his name is Alex Reed, very cute and funny)then of course I headed over to Fox channel for my new season of HOUSE! Just gotta love him. I can't wait for next week, but I have to say that I miss old team! This is going to be something new and exciting for us all.

2 peas challenge for today: How often do you meet with friends to scrap? Do you wish it could be more? I have to say that most of normal friends do NOT scrap! I do however get together with some ladies usually once a month for a little crop which is great, but this summer I was not feeling good and soooo many things going on that I really didn't get there for probably 3 months. I couldn't wait to see everyone a few weeks ago. It was nice catching up.

Ohhh well.. I guess I need to get my behind moving here today. Have to be at work in 1 hour. The fun is just about to begin! Have a great day!

Oh Lynn! I'm so sorry to hear about all the sickness going on at your house! I will keep you all in my prayers for strength and health. You make sure you are taking care of yourself too while you are caring for DJ! You don't need to get sick too.
I LOVE your Triple Threat Layout! My first thought for a little something for the title was glitter but probably not appropriate for a layout about your boys! Maybe outline the letters with a thin black line. Like a .005 marker?
Thank you for your encouragement with my funk! I did get a little layout done yesterday. I will share later today.

Good to read your update today, Lynn.Glad that the dr was helpful...while it wasn't great news, at least when you know what you're dealing with, you can be on the lookout for things. I'm sure it has to be a huge bummer about school and wrestling, but right now, his health is number 1, right? Hang in there! Janet

I know that this may be disappointing for him, but tell DJ to listen to the doctor and take it easy. You try to do the same!

So sad that DJ had to quit college but his health comes first and the most important thing is that he goes into full remission asap. He's so young and I have faith in him that he will get back into his studies next year. I mean, he has such a great mom such as you Lynn that will encourage and undestand him every step of the way. I will keep all of you in my prayers. Take care of yourself too Lynn, I can't believe the challenges and trials that have come your way lately but remember who's in control.

Luv ya girl!
